✨BACK TO SCHOOL BOARDS✨ I know it might feel a little early given the summer holidays are just under way… but just wanted to let you know that I will still be doing Back to School boards this year. Order process will be slightly different from previous years as the website will be closing.

📲If you would like to order, cut off date for final orders will be ***27th August*** and the prints will be despatched on 31st August by first class post. Please email [email protected] and I will send you the details required plus payment info.

📣 A N N O U N C E M E N T 📣 Hello! It has been a while since I posted on here and I have a bit of news. I will be closing the Milk & Mustard website as of August. It has been coming for a while - the truth is that I can't sustain the costs of running Milk & Mustard on the profits I have been making on very small batch orders. Paper, ink and well, the costs of everything really have all risen hugely in the past year and I'm not willing to compromise on cheaper materials if they aren’t up to scratch so here we are!

🚪However when one door closes, another one opens... I have got some happy news is that I've been setting up another business doing wedding invitations and stationery. So still in my paper loving element and surrounded by romance 😍 Literally starting out just at the moment but going right back to the thrills of new designs and ideas - you can find and follow me there on on Instagram ❤️

💌For any small businesses that I have done bespoke work for previously, I am still very happy to carry on designing for you under Marisa May Design and you will have received an email from me already.

📚If anyone would like any back to school boards this August, I will be taking orders for these if you would like them - just will be on DM, whatsapp or email. Please email [email protected] if you would like one and we can take it from there! I was hoping that the website would be running long enough to manage the orders for boards but turns out their payment cycles didn't quite accommodate 😝

🌈And finally... THANK YOU for all your support on this small business venture of mine. To everyone who has liked, supported, bought, and cheered me on... It has been an absolute roller coaster and I have loved having you here for the ride 🙏

🥲 I am both sad and happy at this new chapter ahead. In all honesty I am not quite sure what will happen with this Instagram account, it will be up for a while however as I try and work out what is on the horizon... it might not be clear seas but always an adventure ❤️

It's been a while since I showed my face here in an old-fashioned photo post when I wasn't mugging it up for Reels (the things we do for engagement - any fellow small biz folk might relate🤪) but tied in nicely with .

So hi, I'm Marisa and the bod behind Milk & Mustard. I live in Wimbledon with my husband, 3 kids and an ancient dog called Rusty. I feel like I'm a bit of a mass of contradictions - I love colours although most of my wardrobe is black or grey; I love coffee but hate the instant version; I love reading about other people's "about me" posts but when I'm writing my own all I can do is cringe! 🙈😅

I also love running a small business but continually plagued by self-doubt, although some inner demon keeps me coming back to this public platform 😂

I've also just recently set up another business as one small business is not enough 🤪 which is - my new foray into wedding and event stationery design - which I am so excited about. It's brand spanking new so I'd love for you to pop over and give me a follow! 👋

👋Hello! I haven't posted in forever but just realised it was month and thought it would be fun to join! Today is all about “the brand”, and while that sounds FAR too big-scale for something of my small biz operations, I realised I had quite a set idea of what I wanted Milk & Mustard to represent from when I first set out way back in 2017.

Set up initially with just a selection of framed prints, I wanted to bring a bit of cheer to nursery and playroom walls whilst bringing positivity in the designs and bright colours, as I really believe you can reinforce self-esteem through saying and hearing positive affirmations, as well as the power of having colour around you. I have to confess - when I started I didn't even know what the word “affirmations”meant in this context, I just really believed in the power of words especially on small children. And then I grew into bringing designs into cards, which are probably now a bigger seller than the prints, although I love doing both.

Milk & Mustard sounds a funny name but chosen deliberately, as those are the things that my eldest is allergic to, and I wanted her to see that something positive and good can be made out of something that traditionally might be seen as a negative - as the brand is all about celebrating individuality and feeling good about that 💪

Thanks for following as ever and for engaging with small businesses like me - I can't begin to tell you how much your support means 💛

GONG XI FAT CHOI! 🧧🐰🧨 Happy New Year of the Rabbit! The rabbit is traditionally seen as a gentle animal symbolising peace and prosperity. After this past year I hope some of those traits reflect in this year being a hopeful one for all ❤️

We have been tidying and decorating at home ready for the celebrations this weekend - wishing you all a happy and healthy lunar new year! 🧧

🎉 2023! My resolution this year is to stay in touch with more folk. I’m so guilty of aiming to try and arrange to meet up with people, but then it doesn’t actually happen for various reasons - and let’s face it, life gets busy. So even if it’s just a phone call, rather than a full on dinner, I really want to make this resolution on communication with friends come true this year!! What are your plans for 2023?

🎄Last Christmas orders are closing TONIGHT at midnight📮
It has been a bit hectic with the postal strikes to predict what is happening re delivery dates, so unfortunately I just can't guarantee Christmas delivery (or my sanity) if I leave last order dates any later 🚩 hopefully this won’t be the case next year 🤞

Thank you to everyone who has ordered from me and shown this little business some love this year.

The online shop will be closed over Christmas and will re-open on 10th January 💛

Are you fully enjoying the Christmas spirit or does it all feel like it’s come around too soon this year?🎄I’ve not been around as much on social media the past couple of months. I have been working away behind the scenes, but it’s difficult to maintain a social media presence when you feel like the whole family house of cards is going to come down at any point, which I guess is the life of a micro business parent! But… we are finally getting into the Christmas spirit over here and hope you are getting to enjoy some of the run up during advent too! 🎄

📮Christmas cards and all prints are still available to buy on the website but again postal deliveries are scuppering small businesses on order times - just finalising and will be announcing last order dates today or tomorrow. You should still have a week if you’d like to place an order but I’d hate for any gift to get delayed so I am erring on the side of caution this season!

WOAH - it's been a month since I last posted! Why is that? Some things in family life have been taking up much more time and energy than planned, so I rather fall off the radar in these kind of times 🙈 but I just wanted to say a big thank you to those of you who have ordered while I've been silent on social media. It's essentially my only form of marketing and I really am so thankful for the orders that come in despite not posting.

I may be quieter than I have been for a while longer but I am DEFINITELY still working away behind the scenes so please don't hesitate to ping an order over (online shop link in bio) if I can help in any way!
