Devon’s attractions saw a mixed summer period 🎡

Data from our Q3 2025 Visitor Economy Report shows that 59% of attractions reported higher visitor numbers than in the same quarter last year.

This reflects the mixture of experiences among the attractions sector, with free and outdoor attractions performing the best.

There has been positive growth in visitors to Somerset from London and the South East of England, whilst those from the Midlands and further north have decreased in their share of the Somerset market.

Of those visiting Exmoor from inside the South West, those travelling from Plymouth hold the highest share at 16%.

Devon’s serviced accommodation sector saw steady performance in the third quarter of 2025 🏨

Our Visitor Economy Reports for July to September show occupancy in hotels, guest houses, and similar accommodation stayed broadly in line with last year’s levels, down by just 0.4% compared with Q3 of 2024.

This stability reflects a market holding firm despite wider mixed economic conditions.

According to our latest Visitor Economy Report, day trip length remains higher than 2024 as visitors spend more time in destination - likely enjoying beach and countryside days.

Attraction visits fell by 7.3%, suggesting good weather drew visitors outdoors instead.
