A man walks into a pet shop,
says to a member of staff "I want to buy a fish." Of which the staff member asks politely "Have you seen a fish you'd like?"
He responds "Yes" then points at a large sailfin pleco, "That one."
The Staff member responds nicely saying "It does need a rather large tank, at least 5ft if not bigger"
He replies "I haven't got a tank yet, I'm going to order one online today."
The member of staff says "I'm sorry, but I can not sell you the fish until the tank is ready"
The man angrily replies "YOU ARE A SHOP, YOU SELL FISH AND I WANT TO BUY THAT FISH NOW."
By now the assistant is a little angry at the foolish man and replies "I'm sorry, I don't want to sell any fish to an idiot that does not yet have a fish tank. You're welcome to come back once you have set up your tank that needs to be large enough for this fish."
"YOU'LL BE SORRY, I'M GOING TO LEAVE YOU A BAD REVIEW IF YOU DONT SELL ME THIS FISH" Angrily the man responds.
So however the shop assistant didn't sell the fish due to the fact they have a duty of care for the animal welfare. So the man leaves with no fish, yet a review was left but not by him, himself. Left by his girlfriend?
This isn't a story made from fantasy, it's in fact a true story that happened to us, if only people would tell the whole story when leaving a review rather than trying to make us look bad.
We are happy to be approached with any questions within the shop, we're friendly and always try our best. Sometimes questions can be tiresome for established fish keepers but sometimes we find people that are not familiar with the hobby. Hopefully we can prevent any unfortunate outcomes.
We've been selling fish for over 60 years, but are still sometimes surprised by people.
