The family behind Gracie Rose & Co 💗

We have a-lot of new followers so we thought it was time to reintroduce ourselves, and share a little of the why behind Gracie Rose.

We’re a neurodivergent family of four. There’s me, Abbie, the brains behind the business and my husband Adam, who is generally running around trying to keep up with my latest ideas. Our eldest daughter can often be found behind the till, joking that she’s taking my job, while our youngest prefers to stay off camera but loves making unboxing videos for TikTok. 💗

I never set out for Gracie Rose & Co to become what it has. I was a nurse, but as our children’s needs became clearer, I needed something that could work around our family. Gracie Rose started with handmade gifts, then came fidgets… and it just snowballed.

As a neurodivergent family, we know the overwhelm, the trial and error of finding what actually helps, and just how lacking genuinely understanding spaces can be.

So when we opened our shop, we wanted to create the kind of place we wished existed, somewhere you can touch, feel and try things, where everyone is welcome, and where nobody bats an eyelid if you need to do things a little differently. 💗

And now… look where we are. 🥹

We have so much more planned, because we want Gracie Rose to become so much more than just a shop.

I may have never planned for it to become what it is today, but I’m so glad it did. 💗

We’ve been very busy behind the scenes adding lots of the products you can now find in our Hednesford shop to our website, including sensory products, fidgets, ear defenders and lots more! ✨

ANDDDD… you can now Click & Collect! 🛍️

Order online, choose Pickup at checkout and collect from our Hednesford shop during our normal opening hours. For items we have in stock, we aim to have your order ready to collect within 2 hours. 💗

After an absolutely incredible opening weekend, a few of our sensory favourites have already sold out, but we’re working hard to get those shelves (and the website!) restocked as quickly as we can. Thank you SO much for all the support this weekend, it has completely blown us away. 🥹

WOW… what a day. 🥹💗

We honestly don’t quite know where to start.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every single person who has supported Gracie Rose & Co, whether you visited us today, placed an order, liked or shared a post, left a comment, told somebody about us or simply followed along while we turned this little idea into a real shop. 💗

We genuinely never expected today to be as busy as it was. Seeing people queueing before we’d even opened was completely surreal, and we are so incredibly grateful for everyone’s patience throughout the day.

We tried our best to manage the queue and the number of people in the shop so that everyone inside could still browse comfortably, take their time and explore everything properly. Thank you so much for bearing with us while we found our feet on our very first day!

But more than anything, some of the conversations we’ve had today have meant the absolute world to us. Hearing how much people loved being able to touch, try and explore things before buying, seeing the sensory room being used and enjoyed, and hearing so many people tell us that a shop like this has been needed locally for such a long time… that’s exactly why we wanted to create Gracie Rose & Co. 🥹

We wanted somewhere that children, teens and adults could come in without pressure or expectations, explore things in their own way and hopefully find something that works for them. Seeing that actually happening today was pretty special. 💗

We’ve also realised that amongst all the chaos of getting ready to open, we haven’t actually properly shared our opening hours! 😂

Wednesday – 11am–5pm
Thursday – 11am–5pm
Friday – 11am–5pm
Saturday – 10am–4pm
Sunday – 10am–2pm

And yes, that means we’re open again tomorrow from 10am–2pm! 🥳

Thank you, genuinely, for making our first day something we’ll never forget. We appreciate every single bit of support more than we can put into words.

1 DAY TO GO! 🥳💗

Tucked away behind a curtain, is our sensory room. We wanted to create a calm little space away from the main shop. Somewhere to sit, regulate, have a breather or just escape everything for a few minutes if it all gets a bit too much. 💗

2 DAYS TO GO! 🥳 MEET GERALD 🐛

Our youngest daughter has officially named our 2.5kg weighted caterpillar Gerald, and he’s already made himself quite at home in the shop! 😂

Gerald will be out and ready for cuddles for anyone who enjoys deep pressure, alongside our range of ear defenders and other sensory goodies.

One of the things we’re most excited about is giving you the chance to actually try things before you buy them!

Sensory needs are different for everyone, and what works brilliantly for one person might not work for another. 💗
