I occasionally get asked how we got into Woodturning. Well, it’s all down to Dad who we sadly lost on 8th May. He was the one who started it all by encouraging Joshua’s interest in woodwork. The pictures here are of Dad with Joshua turning a small bowl and roll on 12 years, Josh is coming to the end of his joinery apprenticeship and has built a box for Dads ashes.
With Josh gaining an interest in Woodturning and saving his pocket money for a lathe, I had to then learn to turn in order to keep Josh safe. Yes, Woodturning is dangerous! Over the past few years both Josh and Harry have turned various items, although now only very infrequently and it is me who now has the bug!
So thanks to Dad, your encouragement has led us all down different woodworking paths and there will always be a part of your influence in every project that we complete
