Dotty the Spaniel 🐾✨

Productive day on this beautiful girl and she’s really coming together now. Those gorgeous golden tones are starting to glow, and I’m focusing on building up the highlights and depth through layers of pencils to bring her to life.

I’ve taken a slightly different approach with Dotty—working a bit here, there and everywhere rather than my usual method—but it’s actually coming together in such a lovely way. Sometimes trusting the process really pays off. 🙏

Super happy with her eyes so far… they’ve got that soft, soulful look already. Now it’s all about refining the details (and getting that perfect little button nose just right 🖤).

A little secret portrait reveal… 🤍

A commission I completed a little while ago and kept under wraps — and I have to say, I’m so incredibly pleased with how this one turned out.

Capturing that gentle expression, those soulful eyes, and all the tiny details in the fur… it’s pieces like this that remind me why I love what I do so much.

It’s always such an honour to create something so personal and meaningful.

✨ A Very Special Portrait Reveal: Illy the Cockapoo ✨

Illy is finally complete… and this one means a lot. 🤎🐾
This portrait has been with me through a whirlwind of life changes, and even though it took longer than I hoped, maybe that was exactly how it needed to be. Every tiny curl, every soft shadow — they became little moments of calm in the chaos.

What makes this piece truly special is who it’s for. It’s a gift for my dear aunt and uncle, of their daughter’s beautiful dog, Illy. I know how deeply loved he is, and creating this for them felt incredibly meaningful. I can’t wait to place it in their hands.

Drawn with high-quality, lightfast coloured pencils and some pan pastels for softness on brown Pastelmat, Illy slowly came to life in front of me — the warmth in his eyes, the softness of his coat… all the things that make him him.

I am taking commissions, just at a gentler pace while life finds its balance again. But art is my constant, and drawing Illy reminded me how much joy it brings me. I hope seeing him today brings a little joy to you too. 🧡✨✍️
