After a busy Christmas season and finally wrapping up January paperwork and tax returns, I am happy to step fully back into the flower world. I am really looking forward to creating memorable events and beautiful floral arrangements once again. I’d also like to share that the Gerties Beeswax and Blooms website will be going under construction. Thank you so much for supporting my candle journey over the past few years- it has truly meant a lot. I am excited to be moving more into floristry, creating bouquets, event flowers, and wedding designs-whatever suits you and brings more colour, beauty, and life into your homes and celebrations.

This past season has been a whirlwind of activity, filled with dedicated hard work and the delightful experience of connecting with so many wonderful individuals. Evenings have been especially heartwarming, with my dog by my side, as we’ve taken strolls past houses adorned with stunning wreaths and twinkling Christmas lights. It’s this festive atmosphere that finally inspired me to venture into the loft and unearth my own cherished Christmas decorations, bringing a bit of that magic indoors. I’m incredibly grateful for all the amazing support I’ve received; it’s truly made this season such a joyous and fun one.

When a customer recently requested a silk flower wreath, I’ll admit my heart sank a little. My hands are so accustomed to the delicate, fleeting beauty of fresh blooms that the world of artificial felt like foreign territory. Unsure of where to begin, I dove into a bit of research, but it was stepping back into my own workshop that sparked the real idea. Instead of treating silk and nature as separate worlds, why not blend them? The result was something I hadn’t anticipated: a wreath with the permanent color of silk, yet grounded by the authentic, rustic charm of the natural world.
