How many colours can you find in the forest today?

Every passing season comes with it's own fresh pallette of colours and aromas for us to enjoy.

Last night we had a little bit of rain after a long draught and the juicy smells from the forest floor arose into the atmosphere. It was magical.

Im sharing a little snapshot into some of the colours and textures I have found on my forest walks. There is a sense if calm, peace and tranquility. I feel safe in the forest, where my body can relax and reset and offer a space of graititude 🙏

Mother Nature always provides.🌿

This is a great sustaiable way to make high nutrient garden beds using discarded branches and leaves from the forest floor.

Organic matter can be layered high creating a rich flower bed ready to plant into. No mess, no stress and a whole lot of appreciation and love and for the land.

One of the many benefits of this practice come from a bacteria called - Mycobacterium vaccae. 🌿

It's a naturally occurring soil bacteria found in mud, forest floors, compost, and other healthy soils.
Researchers have been interested in it because studies have found it;

- Influence the immune system in ways that reduce inflammation.

- Affect the brain by increasing serotonin activity in some animal studies, which is why it's sometimes nicknamed the "happy bacterium."

- Be one of several reasons people often report feeling calmer and more uplifted after spending time gardening or in forests.

How many textures can you find in the forest? 🌿

The rough bark of a tree or the smooth shell of the acorn. The wet sticky clay at the base of a river bed or the dimpled hat on our acorns

I invite you to explore the forest with touch. Gently, respectfully. I invite you to play and create with what can be found discarded on the forest floor. Gather your peices of the puzzle and create a magnificent alter ✨️

What are your thoughts and how does it make you feel? This is a gift. A gift for us to receive, hold and explore.

This practice improves our immune system and connection with the natural world. It is a mindfull activity and will reduce your cortisol and stress levels almost instantly. Our forests are magic. It's also super fun!

Not only does the forest allow us space to heal and reconnect, it also provides.

It gives us so much. Her fruits and medicines, her vines and shelters. It holds space for our souls, improves our immune systems and strengthens our cells. The benefits are endless.

This is a lovely little exercise I did in my Portuguese woodland.

A meditative and creative practice that helps clear space, allow new growth and recycles plants into something usable and practical.
