A gorgeous poem for now.

FROM THE AUSTRALIAN CHILDREN'S LAUREATE

There was a cough and then another
The little cat ran to her mother.

“What can we do?” “Well, wash your paws,”
Her mother said, “And all your claws.

“We’ll stay inside and shut the door.
You’ll laugh and hide and read and draw

“And think of all the games you’ll play!
You’ll sleep and eat and then one day…

“You’ll see the door is open wide -
The sun will shine, you’ll run outside -

“Just look at how I’ve grown!” you’ll say,
“Since all the time I’ve been away!”

So wash your paws and don’t feel blue
The little cat knows what to do

And wait until the morning when
Our big old world is right again.

I won't take much convincing.

If you're looking for an excuse to indulge this lunch time... today celebrate "Fat Thursday" - a feast marking the last Thursday before Lent and consisting of eating ungodly amounts of sugary products.

New bookstore in the Courtyard.

And couldn’t resist picking this up! Audrey Kyle’s so-cheerful artwork is displayed on a stand made from a door that came from the ‘house where it happened’, where the Islandmagee witch trials began 🙂

So tomorrow sees us into another month and thank goodness for that. January seemed to drag on for ever. With February we celebrate valentine's and also introduce our new flavour mint chocolate (my favourite).
