A portrait completed this week for my lovely customer. Who also brought me some biscuits when she came to collect it, thank you so much! ☺️

I tried to keep this one looking soft by adding a water layer over the top of the finished piece, to soften the strokes and lines. 💛

Painted using Winsor & Newton watercolours, Daler-Rowney paper and some fine liners 🖊️

What a privilege it was to Judge the artwork entries at this morning. My brother and I worked together to decide on the winners. We were most drawn to work that stood out, was full of confidence, or bravery for putting yourself out there, along with the skill.
It’s not always the polished perfect work that I appreciate, sometimes it’s the less “perfect” and more the ones that I can relate to or ones that I’m naturally drawn to. Ones where different techniques and thought patterns are prevalent.

What your work there today? I’d love to know artists created these pieces! I had my favourites but they were all amazing! 🧡

First comes the outline > then comes the colour. This one’s not quite finished yet, a few finishing touches, a frame and it’s good to go. I LOVE painting houses. Stay tuned for the finished piece 🎨

I was kindly tagged on a local page as this customer was searching for someone that could do a painting of this working farm for her.
Doing a painting from this view was definitely a first for me! And I think it’s worked out just great. The pictures never do it justice sadly but me and my customer were happy with the finished piece, framed up and now gifted to its recipient.
