My name is Sharon. I live in Chesterfield with my husband and adult children, and the cat of course, making gorgeous items from yarn and hooks.

I have been making crochet items for about ten years and love everything about it. Yarn shopping and searching for new designs are so addictive. I rarely make the same item more than once so you can be sure your item is unique. I love a challenge and will have a go at almost anything crochet, except stuffed toys. Cushions, blankets, hats and scarves and, of course, baby cardigans and blankets. It's not often I make 2 of the same item simultaneously but I decided to make 2 of these virus ponchos ready for winter.

Ponchos seem to be having a bit of a revival this year. I love the summer one I made for myself- it's so versatile, and I made a lovely cream and grey one which I can't wait to wear when the weather changes.

1 will be in rainbow stripes - pure fun 😊 and 1 will be black - could be gothic or elegant - whichever you prefer. I'm working the black through the day so that I have good strong light, and the rainbow at night because the stitches are more obvious on the colours even in low light

Finish off Friday has been a good one - finished the scarf and added a fabulous fringe to it, and started the hat at my group this morning and finished it this afternoon.

These will be listed next week but if you want one before then in another colour just dm me and I can sort one out for you 🥰

This is WI soft and silky 4 ply yarn and, it is so soft and silky, it cant hold it's own shape on the yarn jeanie 🤣

A weekend away was truly relaxing plus a bank holiday to settle back in at home.

Now to work on some new projects 🥰

I cleared the decks before we went away so now ut's all new - no WIPS which is so unusual for me. Not having at least 2 projects on the go is very rare. Must put that right asap 🤣

This week I am continuing to work on Autumn and spooky season items, planning the C word and I am starting to write out the pattern for another top I've designed.

In honour of the very large huntsman spider who had to be evicted from my kitchen at the weekend, I am making this scarf using the spider stitch 🕷

Much prettier than the spider (who was very large and didnt want to go outside!!!) and much more cuddly.

The weekend was 🤔 interesting! Saturday I whacked my head on a kitchen cabinet door and sliced my finger open on a foil tray. Sunday I scratched my arm on a door latch and half my lunch fell in the cats water bowl.

And an idiot decided to test my cars brakes on Sunday morning by driving at stupid speed on a residential road with lots of parked cars, saw me coming towards him and lost control and swerved across the road in front of me, mounting the kerb and stopped at the edge of someones garden. I was literally an inch from his car - all my front sensors were going bonkers!!! Took a while to stop shaking 🙁

So today I am having a summerhouse afternoon making a new item ready for spooky season with my furry supervisor who is currently sleeping on the job!!! Pic of finished item tomorrow - got stuffing, sewing, curls and a hat to make 😀🧙‍♀️🧹🎃

Feel so much better today with a hook in my hand 🙂

This scarf matches the hat I made a couple of weeks ago and will be part of the Autumn collection to be released in September - can't wait to show you the complete collection 🥰

For the knitting - I am going to finish the simpler scarf for now and put the more intricate one on the back burner until I can give it my full attention. Obviously needs more focus than I can give it at the minute 🤣

Learning to knit is a very bumpy ride!!!
Just took out the lifeline for the lacy section to find there are 2 sections of dropped stitches below the lace.
3rd attempt with this and I'm going to put it in time out for a little while
I find crochet so much easier, especiallu resolving mistakes

Moved onto our next hotel in Whitehaven ready to watch WH son kart. We are off home tomorrow so I should be able to put more time into my creative pursuits.
