Meet Lily, Ben's wife and the other half of Black Duck Flooring.

Working behind the scenes two days a week, Lily plays a huge role in keeping the business running smoothly, managing the finances and making sure everything stays on track… all with a cup of tea never too far away! ☕️

While much of her work happens away from the spotlight, her support, organisation and dedication have been a key part of Black Duck Flooring's journey and continued success.

Outside of work, Lily is a proud mum to her and Ben's two adventurous boys, both under three. Family life keeps them busy, whether they're exploring the woods with their two dogs, enjoying the outdoors, or spending quality time with friends and family.

A little throwback ✨

When you look beyond the room itself, it's the details, textures and natural character within the wood that really make a floor special.

Every plank tells its own story through its grain, knots, colour variation and texture. Once sanded, treated and finished, those features are enhanced even further, bringing out a depth and richness that simply can't be replicated.

The way the light catches the surface throughout the day, highlighting different tones and textures, is one of the things we love most about real wood flooring.
