The first time I saw “Spooner Blows,” I was a kid riding back from the Hayward KOA with my mom, Grandpa and Grandma.

I read it out loud and absolutely lost it. Couldn’t stop laughing for miles.

And for whatever reason, every single time I’ve driven under that bridge since, it still makes me laugh.

Even when it gets covered up, it never stays gone for long. Someone always puts it back. Like it’s just… understood.

I don’t actually know if there’s a real origin story, and I’m not sure anyone really wants one.
