The six week summer holiday was a super busy sewing time for me….and I loved every single second! 🥰
Sat at my sewing machine is most definitely one of my favourite places to be and I have missed it so so much this week! 🩷

💙 These two beautiful bears went home a couple of weeks ago, they are made in memory of a much loved dad and husband.
💛 Small details such as the collar, button placket, logos and pocket were carefully taken from from the original garments (resized if necessary) and placed with precision on the keepsake bears 🩶

Another gorgeous ’Leavers Bear’ to share with you 💛🩵
The logo was too large to place on the front of the bear so I chose to place it on the back and create a faux layered effect using the young ladies cardigan placed over the pretty yellow polo shirt 🩵💛
The little bow, placed as an extra detail, was taken from her school sock 🤍
With starting and leaving dates carefully embroidered on paw pad 💛🩵
Once again, the pattern used is Ben Bear from FFF, the faux layered effect is not part of the pattern 🪡🧵

Well, that’s the summer holidays almost over 😔☀️
Where did that time go??!! 🤔
I love all the extra time I have to sew during the school holidays 🩷
This ‘Leavers Bear’ recently went to his forever home, wishing the young man a wonderful journey through his next chapter of high school and beyond 🤩
If you look closely, you might just manage to spot the pockets I managed to incorporate, from the school trousers, placed carefully as part the keepsake bear’s legs 🥹

Usually, I’d be listening to music as I sew 🧵
Today I’m just loving listening to the sound of the raindrops outside 🌧️
I’m was of those odd people that love the rain 🤣 I love to walk in it (sometimes) as well as listen to it 😊 It reminds me of such happy memories of camping in the rain, as a child, sat in the tent with my colouring book or getting drenched playing by the lake 🥰
What sounds do you love?

A slight deviation, on Wednesday evening, from creating the memory bears 🫣
Thursday was my daughter’s 22nd birthday. She currently loves toadstools 🍄 and I never need an excuse to get creative on my sewing machine 🥰
A little bit of free motion embroidery…things I would change next time but pleased with how it turned out 🩷

🐾 I truly believe that dogs aren’t just pets, but part of the family. They love beyond measure and are just the best companions 🐾

❤️ I was asked to create a Kip keepsake, from two dog coats, belonging to a very missed and much loved dog named Teddy.
The fabrics I used were a little different to those I often work with, especially the outer waterproof fabric that really didn’t like the heat of an iron. So in this case, the interfacing was carefully sewn in place rather than heat pressed. I was also able to use the coat linings, a black fleece and grey textured fleece…these created the perfect balance for the keepsake’s features 🩶🖤
If you look carefully you may see a few precious hairs entangled in the black fleece that belonged to Teddy, these were left at the customer’s request ❤️
Little details like this can make so much difference to a finished piece ❤️
Please be respectfully reassured, that my sewing machine and all equipment, and work surfaces, are always cleansed between every order.
Pattern used is Kip from Funky friends factory 🧵
