I absolutely love weekends when the weather is warm enough to pretend I’m a wholesome garden person 🌿

This weekend has mostly been spent between vinyl, plants, and making a mess — which is basically my happy place.

First up: a planter for my son’s LSA. This one was meant to be a bit less serious and more funny, because my son’s class are absolutely savage and she would appreciate the chaos 😂

That said… I’m still not 100% happy with it. I think the cactus and clipboard might be getting evicted and replaced with pretty flowers instead. Thoughts? 🌵➡️🌸

And then I made this end of primary school shirt for my friend’s daughter — and I’m actually really happy with how it turned out 🥹

I also made one for my son, even though I’m fairly sure he’ll think he’s far too cool to actually wear it 😂

Truthfully though… the shirt was attempt number 3 😂

Attempt 1: I forgot to mirror the design, so everything was backwards 🫣
Attempt 2: I was so tired I didn’t even realise I’d ironed it on in a way that didn’t read properly 😂
Attempt 3: no hiccups, no drama, everything finally went as it should!

A weekend of cutting, weeding, sticking, second-guessing myself and getting compost under my nails.

Basically… Chaos & Cuttings in full swing 😂

So what do we think — should the planter keep the cactus, or should I go full pretty flowers?

Perfect for teachers, TAs, LSAs, nursery staff, childminders & all the lovely people who help little ones grow.

Each planter is decorated by hand, with a range of colours & designs available - all with drainage holes & some with removable handles. They’re perfect on their own, or you can add a plant, sweets, pens, seed packets, or anything else that says “thank you for surviving my child this year”.

🌿 Welcome to Chaos & Cuttings! 🌿

A few years ago, I didn’t really have any hobbies at all.

Then I decided to grow a few vegetables with my kids.

That quickly turned into a love of gardening, which somehow led to filling the house and garden with plants, learning how to grow new ones from cuttings, and eventually discovering vinyl crafting.

The idea for Chaos & Cuttings came after I started making a few funny (and occasionally slightly rude!) planters for my own garden. When I shared them, people started asking if I could make things for them too, and I thought I’d see where it might lead.

Everything you see here is handmade by me. Some designs are sweet, some are thoughtful, and some definitely come with a warning for anyone easily offended! 😂

These days I seem to have a habit of looking at things and wondering what else they could become. Whether that’s turning one plant into ten, giving an old planter a new lease of life, or even transforming my son’s old bed into features for the garden.

So if you’ve got an idea rattling around in your head but aren’t quite sure how to bring it to life, give me a shout. I love experimenting, upcycling and finding new uses for old things, and I’m always happy to see what chaos we can create together.
