This page is nearly a year old and I don't really seem to have done that much with it. My initial idea was to become a bookseller but that doesn't appear to have worked so I'm going to use it to document my reading year as it progresses and thought I'd better start before we get further in to 2022.

I spent some of the holiday reorganising my work space and books and I have far too many and, at the moment, I am dropping in and out of these 6 books. 3 of them are for my EdD study and 3 for reading for pleasure.

I'm disappointed with the Ben Elton book as it is full of stereotypes and very predictable although I'm sticking with it. It's just like watching Blackadder goes forth which I know Elton wrote.

I've finished Brit(ish) and it is an amazing book which highlights the unconscious bias that most of us have in our daily lives. An amazing read.

Black masculinities and schooling is my go to for my research and that is a very painful read as it brings back so many memories both good and bad.

Anyway my intention this week is to finish the Barack Obama book and start to revisit the vast amounts of Children's Literature and cooking from my recipes books.

I'm 5 weeks into my EdD and am working on my first assignment which is going to be about unconscious bias / white privilege in the classroom and I'm reading some wonderful books,which are changing the way that I think. Saturday evenings are made for reading.

I'm thinking of opening a Children's Book Shop on Addington Road but would also incorporate other things such as children's gifts and games. It would also be used for my tutoring sessions but I wondered if people would use it and it would be a viable proposition. Comments please ?

I am going to be reviewing books for the Just Imagine centre and I am so excited. This morning , I attended an online meeting they ran about Social Justice and even though there are various government Think Tanks and we are told that Black Lives Matter and Women should be safe on the streets, there is still a long way to go and many obstacles we have to overcome but I have a small voice that needs to be used to educate and inform and encourage.

Childrens Literature should be used to encourage thinking outside of the box and I hope one day it will.

Apologies for the delay in posting. The book shop is still open but is now looking for premises a couple of days a week or maybe craft fairs where books can be sold.

Sadly the government don't see this as a priority. Too busy getting kids to pass useless tests.
