Yesterday I sold my very first terrariums at my first ever craft fair! It was lovely to see my creations find new homes 🌱

A huge thank you to Trinity Church Cumnock for hosting such a lovely event and giving me my first opportunity. It was all for a very good cause and I was lucky to have my glamorous assistant (my daughter!) by my side helping out. 💚

✨ Terrarium Spotlight ✨

A minimalist terrarium designed to highlight a stunning piece of dragon stone, featuring asparagus fern and peperomia rotundifolia.

Available to buy at my very first fair, taking place at Cumnock Trinity Church tomorrow!

✨ Terrarium Spotlight ✨

What’s better than one terrarium? A trio of terrariums, of course!

This set is housed in plastic, which I wouldn’t normally use but I love the clear lids so you can see them all in 360 degrees. The plastic does mean they get a bit more mist than terrariums in glass, but this adds to the atmosphere. Plus, less chance of breakage!

Standing at 23cm tall, this unique piece of glassware makes a beautiful home for the tiny garden within.

🌿 How to Care for a Terrarium 🌿

Because terrariums make their own eco-system within their glass home, they require little maintenance, a lot less than traditional houseplants!

☀️ Bright, indirect light – place your terrarium near a window, but out of direct sunlight.
💧 Water sparingly – a little moisture goes a long way in a closed environment. Only water if you see signs of dryness or wilting plants. Too much water can cause mould.
🔥 Keep away from heat sources – avoid placing it near radiators or heaters. Heat and light intensify inside the glass.
✂️ Remove dead foliage – keep it tidy to prevent mould and help your plants breathe.
🦠 Mould - if you see signs of moud, open the terrarium to allow fresh air to circulate.

💧✨ Filtered Water for Your Terrariums ✨💧

Did you know the type of water you use can make a big difference to the health of your terrarium, especially for moss? 🌱

Moss may look hardy, but it’s actually very sensitive to what’s in its environment. Tap water often contains chlorine, minerals, and other additives that can build up over time, leaving moss looking dull, brown, or patchy. Filtered water, on the other hand, keeps things more soft and pure, just like the gentle rainwater moss naturally loves 🌧️

That’s why I offer filtered water for terrariums:
✔️ Helps moss stay lush, green, and vibrant
✔️ Reduces mineral buildup on glass and soil
✔️ Keeps your miniature ecosystem healthier for longer

I couldn’t resist creating a tiny green world inside this re-purposed strawberry jam jar.

Inside you’ll find:

Most terrariums look much better when they’re in your hands, but this one especially. The art deco-style paneling of the glassware is extra special, however it makes taking good photos even more difficult!
