So, we are on day three of the holidays.

Just now and I’m already Blueyed out, my house is upside down, but, fortunately the postie saved my sanity by delivering a gargantuan box of craft stuff from Hobbycraft

Lawrie’s overjoyed making an Easter Egg wreath using some tissue paper and foam stamps.

Tomorrow, we are sticking it all together and making incy wincy spiders to show our bathroom’s garden spider (who I presume is also fed up of the weather).

I have thought, recently, I’m having a midlife crisis.

I’ve realised, it’s not that. It’s the type of feeling you get when you realise how bloomin far you’ve strayed from my creative tribe and I am so, so homesick.

These people know who I am, what my dreams are and what I am capable of, even if I lie to myself. I cannot be in a room with them for 5 minutes without boshing out some sort of masterpiece because they are a tonic and I miss them so much.

Plus I desperately miss Victorian architecture. FFS.

I don’t miss the traffic but I live in Cullen (in Scotland everything is granite) and miss the red Victorian bricks like anything! I do love this viaduct but my mind colours it pinker, like the one in Marple. Oddly, I miss canal boats and warehouses, Cheshire’s sandstone paths and the cranes at Liverpool waterfront.

Everything has been so “beachy” and wild for so long. I feel like I need to get away to busy, busy places… I need a holiday!

Anyway, flip side is the beautiful Becky is coming to visit for a week and I’m hoping having my spiritual guide at my side for a little while (with her own little sprogs) will help lift the cloud of creative misery I feel just now.

🥰 roll on next week. YASSS!

I’ve just spent £22.95 on a hamper for my mum which is, basically, about £6 worth of groceries and I’m sitting here thinking, “I am such a bad daughter.”.

When for £20 you could have one of these beautifully hand-drawn, ONE OF A KIND, pet hearts delivered straight to your mum’s door.

I may have to make Leo one anyway (that’s my mum’s beagle).

Jock & Geordie’s portrait got framed up and delivered, yesterday. Sadly, Geordie was put to sleep, last week, so an extra special portrait for their owners.

Hope you like it 🥰

This one has been professionally framed (which is why it looks a million dollars).

If you’d like your portrait to be as special as this I can quote for framing separately.

Hello everyone, I’m back after a turbulent few months but had a wonderful visit to Ricky at Frames in Focus, Buckie, just made me realise why I love doing this.

Ricky’s materials plus labour is around £100 which sounds like a huge outlay on top of already expensive artwork but you can see how absolutely beautiful it makes work look when the sepia mount board and dark moulding matches the tone of the picture.

Looking forward to seeing the picture framed and to give this piece of work to its lovely clients, tomorrow. 🥰

A few days ago I was having an anxious meltdown simply because I feel undervalued and stressed.

I didn’t feel fantastic but I kept thinking of this picture, of a fox, (from 2020) and the Roald Dahl quote, “You really are fantastic.”

Something in me just needed a signal that I wasn’t lying to myself: that I really AM fantastic. Even if I didn’t feel it at that time.

Well, the lady who bought the the two, original illustrations of these remembered my face and when she came back to collect her laundry showed me that she has these two originals on her wall.

So there is my sign to stop doubting myself and just get on with moving forward with my life.

Thank you universe.
