I have thought, recently, I’m having a midlife crisis.
I’ve realised, it’s not that. It’s the type of feeling you get when you realise how bloomin far you’ve strayed from my creative tribe and I am so, so homesick.
These people know who I am, what my dreams are and what I am capable of, even if I lie to myself. I cannot be in a room with them for 5 minutes without boshing out some sort of masterpiece because they are a tonic and I miss them so much.
Plus I desperately miss Victorian architecture. FFS.
I don’t miss the traffic but I live in Cullen (in Scotland everything is granite) and miss the red Victorian bricks like anything! I do love this viaduct but my mind colours it pinker, like the one in Marple. Oddly, I miss canal boats and warehouses, Cheshire’s sandstone paths and the cranes at Liverpool waterfront.
Everything has been so “beachy” and wild for so long. I feel like I need to get away to busy, busy places… I need a holiday!
Anyway, flip side is the beautiful Becky is coming to visit for a week and I’m hoping having my spiritual guide at my side for a little while (with her own little sprogs) will help lift the cloud of creative misery I feel just now.
🥰 roll on next week. YASSS!
