A challenging day yesterday! Just when I really, really needed to work flat out I discovered that the remains of my "ink" had become too dry and I needed to make another batch! You can't use it for 24-36 hours after mixing as the essential oils take time to permeate the paint properly. So a frustrating wait...but I got this lot cemented up and a couple of small pieces finished.
We also dealt with my box pile. Hmmm. Think I may have been ordering a bit of glass recently...😊😊😊😊

Another finished piece. This one was so delicate - the tiny details on the dragonfly wings were so intricate. The bullrushes are a sgraffito pattern scratched in with a porcupine quill before firing. I loved making this one!

What a day I had yesterday! Up and at it as the sun rose and I worked through til evening. I managed to turn 11 piles of painted glass into finished pieces by the end of the day!
This was one of them- and although I have made several (5?) based on this design, I think this might be my favourite so far. I love the details and how the colours all work together. So today I will be adding the leadlight cement - a horrifically messy job! 😆
It will be making its way to folkeast_artarcade along with many other pieces. I hope you like it too.
