And then ….. camp was over! I actually shed a tear reading this letter that Lucy was given by her supervisor before leaving camp yesterday ❤️

Lucy was overnight in Chicago last night, before she flies to LA and then onto Sydney tonight. And while she’s not home until 4th September, I am one step closer to having my girl home.

But she’s got time in Sydney with my old school friend Evie, and a 21 day bus tour to the Great Barrier Reef to enjoy first.

I was talking to a customer about Lucy’s summer last week and he asked if I’d expected her to do this. I laughed and said absolutely not 😂 my quiet girl grew so much in her first year at uni that she was confident to do this all by herself.

Forever proud! But also pining for her to be home. Looking at her insta post it looks like I’ll be feeling the same next summer 😂

What do you get when 3 Capybaras, 2 Cats, a Giraffe, a Cheetah, a Kiwi Bird, a Lion, a Penguin, a Red Panda, a Snowy Owl and a Wolf are all in one room? An afternoon at HQ for our Animal Portrait Workshop with Claire of course! We had a fantastic group of kids getting creative (and a little messy) with soft pastels, drawing realistic animal portraits, and framed ready to exhibit at home.

We had a few additional activities such as the Giant Geometric Snake Puzzle, Animal Fingerprint Drawings, and Spin the Wheel Animal Mash Up. All activities that have been used in the SKILLZ drawing classes with Claire during term time.

Claire's summer workshops may be fully booked, but if you would like to join her classes during term time there are still a few spaces left. Follow the links for more information and to book your place.

In the last week of term, most of the Teenz had a few things still to complete so I did this quick hot air balloon lesson with the few who had completed everything. It was one of those completely independent lessons that I gave them peace to complete. They did a great job 😍

I love my Teenz class! It’s been full for a long time which is why I added a new class on a Friday afternoon.

With all of the high schools going to half days, it’s the perfect way to entertain them!

It has been a looooong day waiting to hear from Lucy ….. as I received this news at the crack of dawn which was the middle of the night for her 🤪

I was bolt upright in bed, wide awake instantly.

She is absolutely fine thankfully 😅 camp is a mess, but they are all fine and that’s the most important thing.

No more disasters needed as it drove me and Jack to shopping ….. I may have purchased a new Pandora Disney princess ring 😂

Mum life is hard sometimes - it’s a tough gig encouraging them to spread their wings ….. but also wanting them close
