🏁 RACE WEEK! 🏁

It’s time for Round 4 of the SMRC C1 Cup at Knockhill this weekend, and McPhaden Motorsport are back on track with three cars once again on Sunday!🔥

After a tough previous round where we struggled with a power issue, we’re hoping to be back fighting right at the sharp end this weekend! A massive thanks to everyone who helped us track down the problem and get it resolved — fingers crossed we’ve finally got it sorted! 🤞🔧

Scott will be looking to extend his lead in the Newcomers Championship, while Mark will be aiming to build on a really strong first outing and continue his progress.

🏁 ROUND 3 RECAP | KNOCKHILL 🏁

What a weekend it was at Knockhill! It definitely wasn’t the result we were hoping for, but that’s motorsport.

For me, it was a frustrating weekend. We were stuck fighting for 5th throughout due to a lack of power, and just when things couldn’t get much tougher, an unfair penalty (in my opinion) saw me lose reverse-grid pole. It was a disappointing way for the weekend to unfold, but sometimes that’s just how racing goes.

The positives? There were plenty! 👊

🏆 Scott Charles was outstanding, taking 2 Newcomer wins and extending his championship lead. A brilliant effort and thoroughly deserved!

👏 Mark Syme had a fantastic first outing with the team, settling in well and showing plenty of pace. There’s definitely much more to come from him at Round 4.

Championship-wise, we’ve slipped back to 4th overall, sitting just over 30 points behind the leader. But with 7 races still to go, this fight is far from over.

💪 If there’s one thing this weekend has done, it’s made me even more determined. I truly believe we can claw those points back, and we’ll be giving absolutely everything to make it happen

A massive thank you to everyone who helped diagnose and sort the car between rounds. Especially Simon Kennedy and John - The hard work has paid off, and it’s now looking even stronger ⚙️ than before. 👊

🏁 Exciting News from Mcphaden Motorsport! 🏁

We’re delighted to announce that we are extending our partnership with J & I Piperwork Services to bring a third car into the Mcphaden Motorsport team for the remainder of the season.

The car will make its debut at the July round, with Mark taking the wheel for that weekend before joining Adam in future rounds as we continue to expand our presence on the grid.

This is all part of our long-term plan as we build towards the prestigious Race of Remembrance in November in Wales. An incredible amount of work has gone into overhauling the car, and we’re pleased to say it’s already looking right on the pace.

We can’t wait to get to July and take another step forward in strengthening the team’s position and ambitions for the future.

Round 2 of the SMRC C1 Cup delivered a strong weekend for the team, with myself showing excellent pace and consistency throughout. After securing P2 in Race 1, I went one step further in Race 2 to take an impressive victory and stand on the top step with P1. A fantastic result and a well-earned reward for the hard work put in by the whole team.

Teammate Scott unfortunately suffered some bad luck with time penalties across the weekend, but there were still plenty of positives to take away. Scott showed strong pace throughout every session, with his lap times consistently improving as the weekend progressed. The experience gained will no doubt boost his confidence heading into the next round.

A huge thank you as well to Simon and Michael for all of their support across the race weekend — it’s massively appreciated by all of us

We’re also looking forward to having John back with us for Round 3 after he unfortunately missed the opening two rounds while away on holiday… lucky man! 😄

Attention now turns to Round 3 in July, where the team will be aiming to carry this momentum forward.

Race week for Round 2 of the Scottish C1 Cup 🏁

Hoping to bounce back strong after a DNF in race 2 at the last round after all the hard work getting the car sorted and ready again - Thanks Big Si 💪🔧

Big shout as well to my teammate Scott, who’s been flying so far with 2/2 newcomer wins already 👏 Hopefully he can keep that form going this weekend!
