I’ll be at The Pelham in Bexhill on Thursday evening. The pop up market is being run alongside The Pelham’s Easter Extravaganza so there’ll be loads of craft activities, an Easter treasure hunt, food and more. Come on down and check it out!

If you’re in Sussex over the weekend this promises to be a great event. There will be loads of stalls to stock up on your sewing supplies. Also an amazing gallery of quilts to give you inspiration. Look forward to seeing you there!

Happy Lunar New Year!
2023 is a year of the Water Rabbit, starting from January 22nd, 2023 (Chinese New Year), and ending on February 9th, 2024 (Chinese New Year's Eve). The sign of Rabbit is a symbol of longevity, peace, and prosperity in Chinese culture. 2023 is predicted to be a year of hope.

Having a lunar new year and a Gregorian new year is really helping with my forward planning for the year! All the plans I’ve started to put into place after 1st January can be reinforced on the first day of the lunar new year too.

I’m excited for the new year and all that it holds, I’m planning on doing lots of craft markets and pushing forward with new ideas and products for 2023.

Come along to this Jubilee Party on Friday. It promises to be a great day with cream tea, children’s games, craft stalls, music and much much more. It’s being held at St Mary’s Church Hall on Decoy Drive, Eastbourne. Look forward to seeing you there!!

I’m at East Dean Village Market again today 10-2, I’m taking my Jubilee bunting which has been really popular. What has everyone got planned for the big weekend of celebrations? It was so wonderful to see the Queen out and about yesterday to open the new Elizabeth line tube station in London - what a trooper.
Pop over to East Dean if you’re free today, so many lovely stalls to see!

Down at the East Dean Village market today. It’s really a lovely atmosphere and such a lively market. I couldn’t resist a Downland bun once I’d set up my table which was delicious. Loads of craft tables with handmade wares and foodie stalls with baked goods and veggies. It’s great to get out and chat to customers face to face. The East Dean market is on from 10-2 every Wednesday - BN20 0BY

I had an amazing day at on the second part of the Ikebana workshop. On the first part we made the pottery vessels using pre-rolled/thrown/extruded pieces and then on the second part we were able to create floral arrangements in the Ikebana style. Big thanks to for bringing locally grown flowers and amazing knowledge. Thanks to Claire for the inspiration behind the event and bringing your gorgeous flowers. I can’t believe the size and variety of the tulips we used. Definitely be scouring the bulb catalogues later this year!!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend, ours was a full on party both days! I was tasked by my Great Nephew to make Mr Men bunting for his birthday parties! He had a fantastic time at the Eastbourne Miniature Railway on Saturday, the last time I visited there was about 23 years ago and what an amazing place it is now. It’s fantastic to see all the kids enjoying themselves again and definitely one to add to the list if you’re ever in Eastbourne.

DM me if you wanted a custom bunting for any occasion, I made good use of my Cricut for this one, but also painstakingly cutting fabric by hand so that I could add the Mr Men characters on the lettering too. Labour of love 😂

I love getting reviews on my Etsy store, especially when customers tell me who’s going to be using the items. How cute is it that my patchwork bag is going to be used in telling the story of Jack and the Flumflum Tree? I hadn’t heard of this book but it’s another one from Julia Donaldson, author of the Gruffalo and so many other wonderful children’s books.
What’s your favourite children’s book?

These drawstring bags are something I make as well as the bunting, made from strong hard wearing canvas with a cotton panel, they’re made to withstand the rough tough use of having toys and books shoved in!

We’re heading off to Wakehurst next week for the Hungry Caterpillar trail with our two Great Nephews. Wakehurst do amazing trails for the kids during the school holidays and it’s an awesome place to run around and enjoy nature. The Millenium seed bank at Wakehurst hides an underground collection of over 2.4 billion seeds from around the world, banking them to conserve them for the future. It’s truly an incredible place to visit and one of Sussex’s best gardens.
My hungry caterpillar bunting is homage to our day out and just because I love Eric Carle’s tale of the transformation of the caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly

Easter is just around the corner and I can’t believe it was snowing this morning! It’s lovely to get the Easter decorations out again and enjoy the beautiful yellow daffodils that are in season. Britain produces 90% of the world’s cut daffodils so with every bunch bought we’re supporting our local businesses. There’s something about the bright yellow that you see at this time of year that really lifts the spirit! What’s your favourite spring time flower?

We’ve just sold this beautiful blanket of my Mum’s. These are such gorgeous works of art and I’ve been lucky that Mum has made me one too! Each one is so unique and original. I’m sure they’ll become heirlooms and will be much loved. It’s great to have a blanket to keep you warm in the evenings and brighten up the bed or sofa too. Mum still has a few blankets available in the Etsy shop but she’s been rather preoccupied with a new puppy so that’s keeping her away from the crochet hook at the moment!!
