Hello! I’ve been rewriting my artist biography this week (🥴) as well as taking some photos of myself in the studio (😩), so I thought it was maybe time again to say hello, and to introduce myself to those of you who may not know much about me. I’m also trying to pay a bit more attention to Instagram again, which I’ve neglected a bit over a busy summer.
I’m a self taught printmaker from Northern Ireland, but I live in Edinburgh. Edinburgh is my favourite city in the whole world, though I’m not normally a city person. I went to Edinburgh University and studied History of Art, and fell in love with the city then. I spent 6 years in London after university, but found my way back to Edinburgh in 2021, where I’ve been for the last 5 years.
After picking up printmaking in 2020, I’ve been full time printmaking for the past 3 years now, and I’m honestly so grateful to be here and able to make this work. This year has been the busiest yet, though the balance has definitely been off, and I’m trying to work out how to get more time to actually make art and not just sell it!
My work is quite illustrative, the places are based on memories and my imagination, and I like to explore the familiarity of objects and everyday life. I try to approach my work with a sense of humour, and try not to take it too seriously.
I’m always happy to answer any questions you might have for me, and I plan to be sharing more new work very soon!
