💧 Do you have a watering routine for your trees and garden?
It’s easy to assume trees will always find their own water — and once they’re mature, they often do. But younger trees, trees coming out of winter dormancy, and all trees during dry spells still need a helping hand.
Getting into a simple watering routine is a great way to keep your trees healthy throughout the year.
A few things to keep in mind:
• Different trees need different amounts of water — make sure you know what yours prefers
• Avoid overwatering — for example, cherry trees hate sitting in waterlogged soil
• Water deeply rather than little and often — it encourages strong root growth
• Pay extra attention in dry, windy or very sunny weather
We’ve got plenty of container-grown trees ready to take home — so you can still get one planted and enjoy fruit later in the year. The nursery is closed until later in the year, but you can still place orders online, via phone or email. Visits to the nursery and collections are available by prior arrangement.
