Team spotlight: Rory

Helpful. Honest. Knowledgeable. And always willing to go the extra mile.

Those are just some of the words customers have recently used to describe Rory, our Erith Store Manager.

Whether he’s taking the time to explain a product, tracking down exactly what someone needs or helping make a house move a little less stressful, nothing is ever too much trouble.

One customer who lived too far away to visit the store needed help purchasing a cooker hood. Rory answered their questions, checked the product, sent photographs, confirmed the size and weight for their courier and added extra packaging to protect it in transit.

Another customer praised him for working with our Area Manager to locate what they needed, preparing quotes and arranging delivery for precisely the right day.

🦸 Not all superheroes wear capes…

At 4pm, a customer came to us in a panic after their fridge freezer broke down during the heat.

As a Type 1 diabetic, they rely on their fridge to keep essential medication stored safely and their repair company couldn’t visit until Monday.

Our team helped them find a suitable replacement and did everything possible to arrange delivery first thing the following morning.

This is exactly what shopping locally is about: real people listening, understanding and doing everything they can to help when it matters most.

A huge well done to the Wellingtons team and thank you to our customer for taking the time to share such kind words.
