SMITA MEHRA, past Chairman of the EBG is going to Burma the 2nd March as a volunteer of Burmadent.
Smita is volunteering her time to help people in Burma, of which many will be orphan children from poor backgrounds, to provide dental treatment. The team will see 70 to 80 patients a day using mobile units going out into the field (villages, free pre schools, playgrounds).
Burmadent provides basic dental treatment and prophylactic care to the 200,000 people living around Inle Lake, Shan Province, Burma. The aim is to relieve the current suffering amongst all generations from dental neglect. So far since November 2012 to 2016 over 6000 local people have been treated with the emphasis on orphans and the rural poor.
Burmadent has provided all the materials, hand instruments and handpieces for the surgeries. Mobile Units and equipment that accompany the units such as autoclaves have been purchased.
Smita is going out to Burma to volunteer her services as an experienced dentist and would be grateful for any donation, no matter how great or small for this worthwhile charity. On her return, Smita will add photographs to her website and any big sponsors will also be mentioned.
Could you please take a moment and donate to the following justgiving page and support Smita in this worthwhile work she is doing:
