The idea for Of Life & Lemons was born at the same time as creator Angie Freese's first child. "Caffeinated up to the eyeballs and slightly delirious from lack of sleep I came across the quote 'Given Enough Coffee I Could Rule the World'. It was so apt given my situation, I realised how a quote could speak to you and lift your spirits so I started designing prints around any that I found humorous

or uplifting". The result is an emporium of poster perfection, and a constant reminder to always look on the bright side. The range is currently being expanded into textiles such as tea towels and tote bags for an extra dose of cheeky delight. Angie gained a Fine Art degree from the University of East London and settled in London working in art publishing before returning to her Essex roots to raise a family. Now living in sunny Leigh on Sea, Angie designs the prints around looking after her two young children and indulging in her love of nineties indie bands.

Proof that I have the BEST customers, I received all these messages after people received their orders in the last week alone. While it’s not unusual to receive lovely reviews or the odd message like this, it’s felt like there’s been an upsurge which I’m putting down to the ☀️☀️☀️ each of these were received on so does that mean it’s the cheeriest marketplace? 🤔

I got a request for our ‘Coffee and Klarna’ design on a t-shirt so I sourced these lovely slightly off white, organic cotton tees and they’re so nice! Really soft and a nice shape, a bit more boxy than our Christmas tees. What do you think, is it a go-er? Worth putting them on the site? It also got me thinking about our other designs and whether they’d make good t-shirts. I’ve got my eye on a ‘Wake & Wince’ one as that is me EVERY DAY at the moment, groaning as I discover which muscle or joint is going to give me grief today 😂

Here I am designing for me again. I’m short. Very short. And one of my nicknames is Angry Angieson (after the dude who did the song when Scott and Charlene got married) because I have been known to get a little teeny tiny bit angry when discussing politics. Probs best we don’t discuss the way the media are trying to force the country into playing a game show style popularity contest instead of having a functioning government eh?

I got this email today from a customer and it actually made me beam. I had one of those days today where my to-do list just kept growing and I felt like there was so much going on I couldn’t focus on any one thing so was taking a scatter gun approach and not achieving anything. Then I got this email and it made me smile and realise that even on the worst of days this job aint so bad and to just keep on keeping on. Please go an email a small business if you’ve received something recently that you’ve loved, there could just be a frazzled owner on the receiving end who’s desperately in need of that boost!

I’ve been busy adding more options to our illustrated prints recently. We’ve had quite a few requests for various things so I’ve finally got round to adding them all to the listings so you can see everything we offer. I’ve also spent some time updating old illustrations, the longer I’ve been doing them, the better I’ve got and some of the old ones make me cringe when people select them! I think the sweets are my favourites - look at Tony’s Chocoloney and the box of Lindor 😍I just love making all these characters so much.

Today was spent putting together a few wholesale orders, mainly cards and tea towels - with one even going to the US of A! 🇺🇸

We create playful, pun-led cards, prints and small gifts designed to stand out on the shelf. Everything is designed in-house and produced in small batches, so it’s a good fit for shops looking for something a bit different from the usual.

All you have to do is head to the trade enquiries section of the website where you’ll find a contact form. My first painting in over 20 years and I loved doing it SO much! I hadn’t realised how much I’d missed it. I think spending all my time on a computer had left me craving doing something less digital and I had a sudden urge to get the paints out.

I was genuinely worried I would have forgotten how to do it. I’ve only ever painted people, I honestly don’t know if I can paint anything else but it’s been a long old time since I left uni and I wasn’t sure I’d be able to paint ANYTHING 🥴

It’s been really nice to take some time in the evenings and weekends to do this. I find it really relaxing and a great way of switching off. Might set up as a portrait artist as a side hustle 😉😂

Please tell me I’m not alone? 🥴😂

When I was younger, living and working in London, I don’t think I once made it to the end of my road before going back and checking my hair straighteners and hob. My friends made me a checklist that I would tick each day when I left to say I’d checked them - but then because I did it everyday, I would convince myself that it was yesterday I remembered doing it and I hadn’t actually ticked it off that morning so I’d still go back 🤦‍♀️

This method is foolproof as it has a time and date stamp. HA! In your face stupid brain 😂
