Catch up posts for April with some more day session success .That little cold snap early on in the month meant I sat for most of this trip without so much as a bleep or seeing any sign of fish at all.Then,with one of those takes that makes you snap out of the day dreaming with a jolt,one rod ripped off and this, "blank saver?",thirty was the culprit.Cant really be to upset with that result.30.4,nice.
Next session out got off to a bit of a nightmare when the first bite of the day saw the fish get its head into some unseen kind of obstruction and it managed to shed the hook! Perhaps the one flaw with barbless hooks but rather that then tether a fish! And thats what the boss wants so thats what he gets!Anyway,redeemed myself a little while later with this torpedo shaped [email protected] and finished the day with another [email protected].
A S A P barrels straight from the bag,with a match the hatch wafter doing me proud!! Again!

Since the post of 26th march,highlighting a brilliant day session my run of captures has continued and gone from strength to strength! The next session(another day trip)and what an incredible catch.Seven fish banked and one bumped off.Two thirties,36 and 32.8,and five good twentys,all caught in a little over ten hours fishing.
The bites shared between two rods on different spots,and a couple of times hadbarely returned a fish when the outher rod took off!! A mad days fishing,perhaps the new haircut done the trick!!

And while I'm posting heres a recent capture by an old customer from a few years back when we both were fishing at Yateley just before cemex sold the venue. He tracked me down because he wanted to start useing the asap again.However he had this belter of a thirty recently, on an old "ciff" pop up that I used to make.In actual fact some test baits are on rigs in the tank right now! All being well the return of the "ciff" is immanent!! Anyway,well done Billy,good to see you again m8!!

Well I did wonder, with the cold snap, if my recent day trip would be worthwhile earlier in the week but am so glad I made the effort.First of the day was a pretty twenty plus that fell for a paste wrapped wafter.A change to the same set up on the outher rod and it was away with this cracker.Not the best self takes but this fish was not going to behave,and at 38.2 was quite an angry handfull.Third fish of the day came when I had almost packed everything away.An absolute scaley beauty at 32.8.Not to shabby a session after all!! A S A P Again!!!!

I must admit that I did think my recent day session might e a waste of time but am so glad made the effort to go.First of the day was this pretty twenty which fell for a paste wrapped wafter.I then changed both rods to the same and soon after the outher rod took off and this 38.2 was the culprit.Not the best self takes but she simply would not behave much as you can see!! A few hours later as I was packing away a third take produced this stunning 32.8 fish.All in all not a bad day at all.

I was feeling quite chuffed with myself after my recent day session haveing caught four carp which included a couple of twentys.But little bruv's just upstaged me big time by catching a grand total of nine carp on a day session,from low doubles to low twentys!!Useing similar tactics to myself involving a paste wrapped midi wafter hookbait and a light scattering of freebies to keep the fish moveing.A fine piece of angling made even more remarkable after the chap vacating the swim as my brother arrived told him he'd been there all weekend,had not had a bleep and the lake was "dead!".

Finally managed to get first trip out of the year,have just been so busy with orders and jobs to do.But the weather has been so good lately I could simply not ignore the urge any longer.Only a shortish day trip but a really great session anyways topped of with a few carp,the best being these two cracking mid twenty mirrors!!
A S A P paste wrapped wafters proving to be a winning combo on the day!
