Taken from my walk this morning 😔. Did you know that as litter degrades, chemicals and micro particles are released. These chemicals are not natural to the environment, and can cause a lot of harm ❌One example- cigarette butts can contain chemicals such as arsenic & formaldehyde. These poisons can make their way into the soil and freshwater sources- impacting humans and animals. 60% of water pollution is attributed to litter 💧. Participating in a litter pick is a great way to prevent these toxins in your local area, as well as making the place look a whole lot nicer! (Plus walking is just a win-win)
