That’s something I completely understand.
Starting your own little book business might sound exciting, but it can also bring that immediate thought…

“I wouldn’t have a clue what to do!”

The good news? You wouldn’t be starting alone.

After 9 years of running my own Usborne business, I can support you with those first steps — from understanding how everything works to finding the opportunities that fit around your life, your family and the time you actually have available.

You’ll have training, resources, a website and a whole community behind you too.
And you certainly don’t need to know everything before you begin. I didn’t! ❤️
You just need to be willing to learn, give things a go and build something in a way that works for you.

Could you build something of your own in the little pockets of time you already have? 📚❤️
One of the biggest things I hear when chatting to women about starting their own Usborne business is…

“I'd love to, but I don't know where I'd find the time.”

And I completely understand.
Life is busy. Work, children, family, appointments, school runs… there isn't suddenly going to be an extra day in the week!

But you don't need one.

My Usborne business has grown over the last 9 years by fitting around my life — sometimes that's an event or pop-up bookshop, and sometimes it's simply 20 minutes at home sending a few messages or planning what's next.

And your business wouldn't have to look like mine.

You might have 2 hours a week.
You might have 5.
You might have a couple of evenings or one free morning.
The question I'd ask you is:
What time DO you have — and what would you love that little bit of time to achieve for you?
And you don't need to live in Cumbria to have me as your mentor. I can support you wherever you are in the UK. ❤️

I get asked a lot when I am out with my pop up bookshop how often should I read with my baby, child, tween.......

Everyday.....if you can.....

By doing things regularly they become a habit and when you don't they become something that you wished you did.

Reading with children is one of the most precious gifts you can give them.

Our next pop up bookshop is our monthly visit to Houghton Village Hall Farmers' Market we will have lots of new titles, from new Halloween books plus countdown to Halloween, new Christmas books and Advents. Lots of new fiction and activity books plus a new wind up!!!!!!!

So come along, start your Christmas shopping and support all the lovely craft and food makers.

Plus stay and grab a cuppa and cake and enjoy the atmosphere 😉

Lovely to see all the children from Ireby School who came and found me. Love how grown up you all are ❤️

I have a very exciting month ahead with lots of different events, from Country Shows to Toddler Groups to School Bookfairs and School Fairs with a couple of Farmers Market thrown in too.
