As a small business which operates only remotely across Scotland and the north east of England, the rise in petrol and diesel prices is breaking my heart.

How much longer can we afford to keep running? How much more are we going to have to charge customers just to make it to their properties and back? How is ANYONE supposed to survive as a small business? Most importantly, what support is going to be put in place to help?

Today, I am going to be writing a formal letter to our local MP alongside the Prime Minister Andy Burnham and First Minister John Swinney to help make sense of what help is going to be offered to us small remote businesses.

This cannot continue, if it does, LindAquatics cannot continue and I know hundreds of other businesses which will not make it too.

I hope to bring any updates and I promise all our customers and followers that me and Mathew are working around the clock to find cheaper solutions for you all at this troubled time.

With the end of pond season, comes the end of LindAquatics…😔

BUT DON’T PANIC - we will be back on 30th September!!😏

We are now on holiday eeeek! This time next week, me and Mathew will be jetting off to Floridaaa!🌴

Sometimes an aquarium clean turns into a little more than expected… 🐠🔧

Today we visited this established aquarium which had been inherited by its new owner when they moved into the property. With no instructions on the setup, a filtration system that kept cutting out and an aquarium that had become heavily overgrown with algae, they called us in to help get everything back under control.

And what a difference! ✨

We carried out a thorough clean, removed heavy algae build-up from the glass and décor, cleared out excess artificial plants to create more swimming space, cleaned and checked the filtration system, pump and impeller, and investigated why the system kept unexpectedly switching off.

During our checks, we found the likely culprit: a badly cracked aquarium heater with water inside the unit. ⚡

The damaged heater was immediately removed and replaced, while the rest of the filtration system was thoroughly checked for faults, blockages and damage. Everything is now back up and running, and we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that we’ve seen the last of those mysterious shutdowns!

The aim wasn’t to strip the aquarium back completely, but to make it cleaner, safer and much more manageable for its owner while keeping the established system stable. 🌿

A very satisfying transformation and one much happier aquarium owner! 🥰
