Our Marley Hill Signal Box Kit - inspired directly by the real structure.

Seeing the model held alongside the actual signal box really brings it to life. Even in its unweathered form, the proportions and detailing give a strong sense of the original. Although we’re biased… we think it’s a very close match!

📢 A quick update on our online ordering system

We've recently moved to a print-on-demand approach for most of our products. This means you should see far fewer items marked as "out of stock" and have access to much more of our range whenever you need it.

As a small home business, this does mean some orders may take a little longer to arrive while we manufacture them. However, it also allows us to keep developing new products, refining existing designs, and expanding our range without needing to hold large amounts of stock.

Looking ahead, we're preparing to move into a new premises this October, which should help reduce our lead times and increase our production capability.

While there's no evidence that the Leeds & Thirsk railway ran Manning Wardle L classes on their lines (the dates are all wrong)

🚂 We think our Leeds and Thirsk coke wagons look great behind Rapido new Manning Wardle L class, particularly the one with dumb buffers!

🪨 And who knows, maybe a private railway in the Leeds area bought some of the old coke wagons and looked something like this...

And that wraps up our little bank holiday series exploring the railway history right here on our doorstep 😎

You really don’t need to travel far to find reminders of the region’s railway past.

This former engine shed near Rowlands Gill was built in the early 1900s and once served the Lilley Brickworks, with railway lines running directly into the building from the Derwent Valley Railway.

These days it’s looking a little worse for wear. The roof long gone and nature slowly taking over, however there’s still something fascinating about seeing these structures still standing over 100 years later.

We’ll be back to sharing our model kits and accessories from tomorrow 👨‍🔧. In the meantime, check out today’s story to see what we've been working on this afternoon 🎨
