It’s 100 years to the day since jazz icon, John Coltrane was born.

He was a revolutionary, who transformed saxophone playing in jazz, bringing a deeply spiritual vision.

We have a lot of Coltrane albums in our vinyl collection to buy. Here’s a selection that John put together.

John and Ian went on a road trip to Kent at the start of the month.

This is quite a system! All perfectly balanced and synergistic.

It’s our old friends from FYNE AUDIO and Accuphase working their magic again with some added Linn for good measure too.

Speakers are Fyne F702SP in the natural walnut finish plus SuperTrax super tweeters for their added spaciousness.

Accuphase’s E-800S integrated with phono card for amplifier duties - this is one of our most popular products at the moment!

The deck is one of our New Classic Linn LP12s which combine pieces of new and pre-owned components to give maximum bang for buck.

We weren’t skimping on the digital side either with a Linn Dual Mono Selekt DSM and Innuos Stream1 server hidden away.

Not knowing exactly how long the speaker cable would be we made it up on the spot with Chord Company EpicX and their crimping gun for the Ohmic bananas.

The rack is Podium from Atacama.

We take great delight in pleasing customers, even if we do have an 800 mile round trip!

Thanks to Yahoo News for featuring Loud & Clear Glasgow and our 30th anniversary.

Allan's with Heilidh Wilson from the Beatson Cancer Charity. We’re proud to support the Beatson right now - including donating 100% of profits from our 1030 30th-anniversary album, created alongside our friends at Last Night From Glasgow.

We have a series of events planned for this big milestone in Loud & Clear's history.

To celebrate our 30th anniversary we are featuring artists and albums that broke through in 1996.

This time it’s Glasgow icons, Belle and Sebastian, who burst onto the scene with not one, but two debut albums in 1996. First up was Tigermilk, a private press which they recorded and released for a college course, and then their first properly distributed album, If You’re Feeling Sinister on Jeepster Recordings.

Belle and Sebastian have been touring this year to celebrate this milestone, and we hope you got to see them at their home coming Kelvingrove Bandstand gigs in the summer if you are fans.

If you want to know more about the making of If You’re Feeling Sinister there’s a great Pitchfork documentary in the comments.

John was demonstrating FYNE AUDIO F501S floorstanding speakers yesterday.

These competitively priced speakers at £1,699.99 feature technologies that you’ll find in Fyne’s upper reaches - it’s a lot of speaker for the money.

Like their patented BassTrax diffuser system which dissipates bass pressure in 360°. This means you can place these speakers easily in your room - they can go closer to the back wall than a traditional rear ported design.

They come in black oak, piano black and seen here in the natural walnut finish.

The source for the dem was MOON by Simaudio’s 371 all-in-one streaming amplifier which comes in at £6,250 and has been wowing everyone who’s heard it.

A lovely sounding system 🎶

If you want to know more about the Accuphase E-3000 integrated amplifier than John used in his demonstration in the last post, then dive in here.

The reviewer has been waiting for 30 years to hear Accuphase again after his first experience.

Let's just say he wasn't disappointed! And nether will you be if you pop in and have a listen 🎶

John’s demonstration today is all set up and ready to go.

The FYNE AUDIO F501SP in the new natural walnut finish are the main stays in this dem.

Now, what electronics to partner them with?

In this first version it’s Accuphase with their first integrated amplifier, the E-3000, with the AD-60 phono option card, making this a simple one box solution.

The source is the ever excellent Rega Planar 8 with Apheta 3 MC cartridge.

After giving this system a run through, we’ll be seeing what similarly priced Rega electronics deliver.

Letting the customer have the time to listen to different options means they arrive at their perfect system.
