Hello everyone, James here at Astro Models🙂 I am excited to share with you a lovely little model collectable that I've been working on for the last 18 months. This is our 'Lunar Surface Display Base' (AMLSDB/1). It's purpose is to visually enhance your 1:12 scale figure by placing it on a lovely lunar like surface. It is highly detailed and comes complete with a positionable moon rock. It takes many layers of almost transparent paint to build up the colours resulting in a very pleasing finish. Each one is definitely a labour of love! 🙂 There are also several layers of varnish, during and after the colours are applied to protect the paint. I have been longing to release this model but it has taken some time to figure some of the finer details. Patience, as the saying goes, is a virtue! The model is mounted on top of a lovely gloss black acrylic base which enhances the overall look and feel. Both the lunar base and the rock are cast in Jesmonite which I have chosen over resin. This is for health and safety reasons in production. This is the first base in this range and I plan to release some more in the future each with variations in the profile of the accompanying moon rock. So stay tuned for more details on those. I sincerely hope you will enjoy our first wonderful little 'Lunar Surface Display Base'. As each one is produced by hand production numbers are fairly low and we only produce a handful at a time. This original retail target price is: £39.99 BUT we have a special introductory offer price for the first few models of: £29.95 + £1.95 postage (shipping to mainland UK only at this point in time).
