🐚 IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE JUST A SOAP TRAY. JUST ONE. 😂

That was the plan.

A lovely handmade tray for my soaps. Simple. Sensible. Nothing complicated.

And then my brain decided to get involved. 🙄

💭 “Hang on… what if we did something completely different with it?”

Oh, brilliant. Another idea. Exactly what I needed. Because apparently making handmade soaps, candles and home décor wasn’t keeping me busy enough. 🤣

And that’s how this little ocean-inspired beauty was born! 🌊🐢

✨ Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo… if only it were that simple. 🪄🌹

You see a beautiful bunch of red rose soaps.

Behind the scenes, we see scales, thermometers, calculations, safety assessments, ingredient documentation, fragrance limits, allergen calculations, batch records… and a truly ridiculous amount of paperwork. 😂🧪📋

Making handmade soap to sell isn’t simply melting a soap base, adding a splash of fragrance and colour and hoping for the best.

Every Kate’s Owls soap is made within a professionally safety-assessed formulation. Ingredients are carefully measured, fragrance percentages are calculated, supplier documentation is checked, allergens are considered, and every production batch is recorded and traceable.

And it isn’t just these roses. 🌹

The same process sits behind our strawberries 🍓, grapes 🍇, seashells 🐚 and every new soap design that appears at Kate’s Owls.

The shapes can change.
The colours can change.
The fragrances can change.

But the rules behind making a safe, properly documented cosmetic product don’t disappear just because the finished result looks magical.

So yes, there’s definitely a little Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo happening in the kitchen. ✨🪄

But somewhere just outside the camera frame there’s also a calculator, a thermometer, supplier paperwork and probably me checking the same percentage for the third time. 😂

Because handmade can be creative, beautiful and a little bit magical…

but the magic still has to follow the formula. 🧪✨

🌹 Okay… you’ve gone a little crazy for these soaps.

First came the grapes 🍇.
Then the strawberries 🍓.

And after the incredible response they’ve had, there was absolutely no way I was stopping there.

So, as promised… meet the roses. 🌹

The newest addition to the Kate’s Owls handmade soap collection — and I have a feeling these might be rather popular. 👀

This time, each individual rose is handmade using a beautifully creamy Goat Milk soap base, before being brought together by hand into a gorgeous hanging soap bouquet.

They smell absolutely incredible, lather beautifully and, until you’re ready to use them, they double as a pretty little piece of décor beside the kitchen sink, bathroom basin or shower. 🫧🎀

Every rose is individually handmade, which means each bunch has its own tiny variations and character. No mass-produced perfection here — just something genuinely made by hand, one little rose at a time. 🤍

And the more I look at them, the more I think these were MADE for gifting.

Another XL bum bag finished — this time in CAMO! 🖤

These bags have become one of my favourite things to make, and this one was handmade from start to finish with plenty of room for all those everyday essentials that somehow never fit into a tiny bag. 😅

The XL design has a spacious main compartment with black lining, an additional pocket inside and a separate zipped pocket at the back. It’s finished with a chunky zip, strong webbing and an adjustable buckle strap.

Wear it around your waist, across your body or over your shoulder — adjust the strap and make it work for you.

And it doesn’t have to be camo!

I’ve already made these bags in different colours and styles, and custom orders are welcome using the fabrics and colour combinations I currently have available. Have a look through my previous posts and Reels to see some of the other designs. 🖤

Each one is handmade individually, with attention to the little details — from cutting and structuring the fabric to adding the lining, pockets, zips and straps.
