👑✨ A LITTLE HEARTFELT MESSAGE FROM THE CROOKED CROWN ✨👑

The past couple of days have been rather quiet in my beautiful, magical little grotto… and I won't pretend it hasn't been a little disheartening. 😪❤️

When I opened The Crooked Crown, I wanted to create something special. Not just another shop, but somewhere full of character, colour, beauty and a little bit of magic. A place where you could discover something unusual, find the perfect gift, or simply step away from the ordinary for a few moments.

But behind every beautiful independent shop is a person who has taken a chance, invested their savings, poured their heart into every little detail and dared to believe that our high streets still have a future.

And the sad truth is, without support, they don't.

We all say how sad it is to see another empty shop, another boarded-up window, another piece of our high street's character disappear.
But those shops don't disappear overnight. They disappear quietly, one slow day at a time, until keeping the doors open is simply no longer possible.

I'm not suggesting everyone needs to spend a fortune. Sometimes a £5 purchase, a recommendation to a friend, a shared Facebook post or simply popping in to see what treasures we've got makes more difference than you could ever imagine.

If we want beautiful, interesting, independent shops on our high streets, we have to use them while they're still here. Not mourn them once they're gone.

I still believe in Hastings. I still believe in our high street. And I certainly still believe there's room in this world for a little magic. ✨

💚 Yesterday, I had the heartbreaking honour of creating these floral tributes for a friend taken from this world far too soon 💚

There are moments in floristry when flowers become so much more than something beautiful. They become a final gesture of love, a reflection of a life lived, and a way of saying the things that words simply cannot.

Creating these tributes was both an honour and an incredibly emotional experience. Every flower was placed with love, care and the hope that, in some small way, they would bring comfort on the most difficult of days.

Just 27 years old. A lifetime of memories that should still have been made.

Rest peacefully. 💚

At a time when our high streets are facing enormous challenges, The Crooked Crown is proud to be opening its doors as a new, proudly independent Hastings business — created with the belief that our high streets can still be places of wonder, imagination, beauty and discovery.

Step through our doors and leave the ordinary behind.

The Crooked Crown is a treasure-filled grotto where floristry meets fancy — overflowing with colour, creativity and beautiful things you simply won’t find everywhere else.
At its heart is exceptional floristry, from breathtaking bouquets and bespoke arrangements to wedding flowers, funeral tributes and flowers created for life’s most memorable occasions.
But wander a little further and there is so much more to discover…
Jewellery, scarves, prints, unusual gifts, beautiful curiosities and fabulous little treasures fill every corner — whether you’re searching for the perfect present, something extraordinary for your home, or simply something wonderful for yourself.
