The existing laminate flooring had unfortunately blown and failed due to poor-quality materials and installation. After uplifting the floor, we carried out repairs to the subfloor before installing stunning new Ted Todd engineered wood flooring for a completely transformed finish.

A proper floor starts from the ground up, and taking the time to prepare the subfloor correctly makes all the difference to the final result and longevity of the installation.

The warmth and character of the new wood flooring have completely changed the space, creating a timeless look that’s built to last.

Ever wondered what goes into a truly beautiful wood floor? 🌳

Last week our director, Andy and Charles got to find out firsthand, visiting the Ted Todd headquarters in Warrington. As a Ted Todd Premium Retailer, it was a brilliant opportunity to go behind the scenes, and what they saw was genuinely impressive.

Far from a fully automated factory, the reality was skilled craftspeople hand-finishing boards, inspecting every single plank for quality, and carefully placing each one to create bespoke micro bevels for specific customer orders. Real skill. Real pride. Real craftsmanship.

Founded over 30 years ago, Ted Todd has grown from a reclaimed wood business into one of the UK's most respected flooring manufacturers — with sustainability and FSC-certified timber at the heart of everything they do.

It's visits like this that remind us why we love what we do. When we recommend a Ted Todd floor, we know exactly the passion and expertise that's gone into making it.
