It is with great sadness that we share that two of our traders had jewellery stolen from their stalls in the Shipyard Market today.

Stealing from small independent businesses is never ok.

These are real people, working hard to do what they love — and this directly affects their livelihood.

This week’s spotlight is extra special — because it only opened yesterday and we are already completely obsessed.
Welcome to Leven Rye Bakery — Porthleven’s brand new sourdough bakery from the wonderful Steph and James 🥐

Your market manager Tanya made absolutely sure she was near the front of the queue both days — and yes, those are her Sun Made Studio formerly Hand and Palm coffee cup and croissant earrings. (And Alphabet bags ) Obsessed by pastries? Guilty as charged.

Queues out the door on both opening days says everything you need to know — Porthleven has been waiting for this and Steph and James have absolutely delivered. A soft launch of bread, pastries and coffee that did not disappoint for a single second.

And the best part? The incredible smell of fresh baking drifting across the harbour. We have a feeling we’re going to be regulars.

Wishing Steph and James every success — Porthleven is so lucky to have you.

Go and find them and prepare to be very happy indeed. Worth every minute of the queue — but make sure you get there early!
