Happy Monday, guys!! I don’t know about you, but I think this week is off to a FAB start (got the bins out on time) (had two coffees) (already stroked THREE dogs - don’t tell Roo).

Meanwhile, the farm has had a bunch of aggregate dropped off for the next project, and the goldfish are up to something. I’ll try and get you a video because, so far, it’s based on a gut feeling, y’know? Which hasn’t been quite enough to convince anyone else that they’re up to something nefarious.

Like, yes, okay, we dug the pond in - but that doesn’t mean they haven’t put an underground lair in?! There’s literally no need for them to spend that much time under the water lilies, all I’m saying (this isn’t all I’m saying, that’s a lie. We will be revisiting this).

Another thing - I’d welcome your thoughts on a few questions that have come up over the past few hours! Do we think that chickens have different circadian rhythms to humans? Because everyone I’ve spoken to has had a slightly different opinion on this so far. And do you think that chickens would enjoy a holiday, or do you think it would just stress them out? And if you did take a chicken on holiday, do you think that they’d prefer a camping trip or an all-inclusive? 🤔🐓

No such thing as wrong answers on this one. I’ll keep asking people at my end, but I’d appreciate your take on this ☺️😂

Did you know that you can actually fit four people into a canoe if you’re really determined and nobody wriggles too much? We worked this out last week! We didn’t attempt to fit the dog in because the only water that Roo enjoys probably has a slice of lemon in it and is lightly sparkling 😂

This week is shaping up to be another week of “doing” at the farm! There have been strimmers strimming, new compost areas being built, tractors being given new leases of life, and axes axing. I don’t know about you, but I think everyone’s breathing a bit of a sigh of relief now that it’s a bit cooler 💕

I’ll keep you posted! In the meantime, my latest book order has arrived at Wobbly, and it’s got some absolute corkers in. Have you ever wanted to learn yoga whilst wearing a kilt? You’ve come to the right place. 😉😂

So if you’ve been rain dancing for us, THANK YOU 💕 (And please keep it up because puddles are great and I would like 3000 more 😘)

But I hope you got some of this good stuff as well. And if you see a puddle, I highly recommend having a bounce. It’s the best thing in the world ☺️

Full disclosure - I spent all of last Monday CONVINCED that it was Tuesday. This was great for avoiding Monday-morning-itis but it did cause some serious confusion for the rest of the week. I could not pin Wednesday down to save my life, honestly. Bin day was a write off and I LOVE bin day.

So today, we have Monday’d with intention! And it’s been great. Said hi to the chickens, made sure the polytunnel was behaving, had a fab day at Wobbly - what’s not to like?! Roll on bin day 🥳

Good morning sunshine! Ever so sorry for the lack of post yesterday, it was a busy one! We took Roo to look at goats at the county show (we actually took me to look at goats - but I think my bank account is less likely to get checked if I say that it was for the dog’s benefit) (and he did like them!)
Anyways, I am still goat-less which I think the gang is probably quite pleased with. For now 👀

In other news, we’ve got the first of this year’s open days on the farm today! I’m at Wobbly doing a stock check on our book section aaaand I’m hoping to get a newsletter out today. So whilst I start that, I thought you’d like to see a bumble bee that’s living in the polytunnel. Isn’t he gorgeous?! 🐝🌻

I’m not going to lie, I was ACTUALLY hoping to show you Juno learning to climb apple trees today (a vital skill for any orchard cat 🐈‍⬛ ). But it turned out that I’d only managed to video my foot this morning so that was a bit of a no-go 😂

Anyway, the two original Ty Madoc orchard cats wanted their moment of fame. Because what’s better than one orange cat? TWO orange cats! And what’s better than one orange braincell?
…. I genuinely think they just share the one.
Anyways, here are Storm and Charlie 😂🐱🧡

Honestly, I can’t recommend starting a Very Serious Cider Company with your family enough. Yes, family dinner turns into a board meeting - but isn’t that so fab?! Also, they aren’t allowed to sack you because it sort of ruins Christmas. It literally just keeps getting better.

Anyways, Rob and I are off to Abergavenny Street Food Market tomorrow evening! So we will be packing the van in the usual chaotic fashion, squabbling over the music, and hopefully (!!) getting there on time 😂 The cider siblings are on the road again 🥳🚚
(No one will be wearing a sheet over their head this time! Probably.)
