Who AM I
My journey into small-scale models and specifically hobby-grade radio-controlled cars started in 1988. It defines Rebirth / Renewal / Resurrection.

I was 15 at the time and my parents bought me a TAMIYA Avante. The Avante very much wet my appetite and interest in engineering, innovation and fine details. I raced until my early 20s then took a break, as life happened, until 2016 when I rekindled my interest in the hobby and started building my vintage collection, now counting over 250 cars. With Phoenix RCC, I aim to share my passion and extensive collection with like-minded individuals, but also share models and products from this era that I have re-created thanks to my engineering skills. The phoenix is a mythological bird found in ancient Greek, Egyptian, Persian, and later Roman lore. The phoenix lives for a long cycle, then bursts into flames, turns to ash, and is reborn from those ashes. Phoenix RC Creations aspires to create, rebuild, improve, and bring rare vintage radio control cars back to life again.

RRP PHOENIX RCC RMX-97 READY FOR VEGAS
After many months from original idea, design, test, manufacturing and assembly, the limited batch of 10 ultimate MX-4 x YMP is almost ready.
What was once a dream, to merge Masaaki Hirosaka’s 2 most successful and most advanced vintage buggies into 1 ultimate racer, is now a reality.
A few cars are missing a couple of carbon parts that I will pick-up in Vegas next week, while delivering the first cars to US customers.
On my return, all RMX-97 will be shipped to their lucky new owners.
What a journey. Thank you Ruben Rubrix Racing Products for your trust and friendship, without which this fantastic project would not have seen the daylight.

The production line as of today. 9 RMX-97 nearing completion. I will need to pick-up some parts from Vegas early September in order to complete the last cars. Such a great platform to work with.

MX-4 by Masaaki Hirosaka
The MX-4 is Masaaki Hirosaka most accomplished platform, evolved over many years, refined through several concepts, tested to the highest level of competition.
I have worked hard to gather all key cars of this generational platform, all made and signed by the master himself.
In chronological order:
- MX-4 Prototype unique test mule from the 1997 Worlds Warm-up practice;
- MX-4 Prototype Worlds Winner one of 50 replicas;
- MX-4 Commercial Prototype, made by Masaaki to test the mass production front plastic bulkhead;
- MX-4 Commercial Car, or standard car made by Masaaki;
- MX-4 1999 Masami Race car from the Worlds event;
- MX-4 YMP-013, mid-engine conversion kit;
- MX-4 2001 Worlds Prototype number 4 (most forward motor position tested);
- MX-4 2001 Worlds Prototype number 9 (final shocks, blue delrin parts);
- MX-4 2001 Worlds Prototype number 12 and Masami’s race car (had the event not been cancelled);
- MX-4 FOREVER, Masaaki’s swansong commemorative limited edition.

2026 RMX-97
This month is going to be focused on getting the 9 RMX-97 customer cars ready for their new owners.
Created as the ultimate version of the MX-4 combining the CNC machined front and rear bulkheads of the 97 Prototype winner with the mid-motor platform of the YMP-013.
The aim is to get them ready ahead of Vegas.

2026 KOGA EL.FF
I am thrilled to have received one of the rare KOGA EL.FF to make it out of Japan.
As expected the presentation and craftsmanship is second to none.
Congratulation on this amazing journey and achievement after 7 years of hard work and big thank you to Kiyoshi for the privilege.
I will be working with him to import these into the UK for the second batch. Stay tuned.

1997 YOKOMO MX-4 Prototype Warm-Up Test Car
I am so very proud to now welcome the unique original car prepared by Masaaki and driven by Masami Hirosaka at the Worlds Warm-Up during practice, in preparation for the race that would see him take his final 4WD buggy title with the MX4 Prototype.
For those eagle eyes, you will notice carbon parts with less weight-saving, 2-part front tower, rear toe-plate that mimics the front setup. The front gear box is made from delrin instead of aluminium for the worlds winner.

BRIMOD 4WD PROTOTYPE REPLICA
This is it. 6 cars built and 1 car new in box. All soon heading to their new owners.
Quite a project in between creating all models, sourcing, having parts made from various suppliers and getting them assembled.
I am really pleased with the end result. The car still has flaws inherent to the original car but it is quite a smart platform and the combination of glass fiber and alloy makes this car look very arty.
Thank you to those who ordered one as they made this project possible.
Next up are the Brimod shocks, which would have made the cost of the car too high. So stay tuned for the release of this famous threaded shocks.

BRIMOD 4WD PROTOTYPE REPLICA
Now getting into serious and sometime stressful steps. Although everything is validated with 3D printing ahead of manufacturing, there is always a (calculated) risk, something might now align. Especially gear meshing. But all working really well. Super smooth. And the combination of glass and aluminium is looking more like a modern art mechanical object.
