Only two weeks to go!

After some delays we can now announce that Tynedale Craft Exchange will be opening very soon.
We are excited to say that the new shop, situated at 17 Hallstile Bank next door to the Minerva Shop, will open on Saturday 19th of September (more details to follow).
There is still quite a lot of work to do, we are looking for some volunteers to help to help sort through stock and fill the shop shelves ready for opening. This will involve lifting and carrying as well as stairs so we don’t expect it will be for everyone. We are looking for help with this on Thursday 10 & Friday 11 September.

We are also looking for volunteers to help us run the shop or if you prefer to work behind the scenes, we will also need help sorting donations and various other supporting roles. So whether you can spare a few hours here and there or would like something more regular, we’d love to hear from you.

I’m slowly getting through unpacking my new studio so it’s time to start sewing workshops again. I’ve been a little quiet since closing the shop as I’ve had to take some time off to recover from the move and to have some surgery on my hand. Big thanks to Millie for looking after me ♥️

The contents of my studio are still stashed across every room in my house, my mum’s spare room and my sister’s garage 😂 Unfortunately the studio I was hoping for didn’t happen but I have found somewhere that will allow me to start making again. I will be adding some workshops over the next few days but please note that these will take place on the second floor so not the most accessible (I’m looking at additional spaces with better accessibility so send me a message if this is something that you’d want me to do).
I will be taking commissions by appointment once I’m settled in.

I’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported the shop over the last 4 years; the artists and makers, the workshop tutors and participants, craft swap goers and of course the wonderful customers.

As Green Bee closes on Battle Hill, I’m excited what the future holds for the amazing community that has formed!

Thank you to all the people that helped move a mountain, for the beautiful flowers and cards and for all the treats for Jess! Appreciate you all 💚

After four fabulous years in the shop, it’s time for a new chapter…

I will be leaving Battle Hill at the end of June so that I can downsize into a studio to concentrate on my own creativity and have the time and energy to teach more workshops. I have loved having the Green Bee shop, sharing the space with so many fantastic makers and artists but it is hard to juggle everything as a solo business owner.

I will let you know where to find me once I’m settled into my new space but in the meantime pop in, say hi and pick up some fabulous art or homewares while you still can.

This is why I love teaching people to sew. To see them grow in confidence and develop skills which they can use and build on.
I will be adding more beginners and intermediate classes soon.

The last ever Green Bee Craft Swap will be on Saturday 16 May. We will have a room full of craft supplies ready to inspire you and we’d like to rehome as much as possible! Bring a bag or three and take as much as you can use, donations towards Tynedale Craft Exchange greatly appreciated.

We will be taking a break whilst we prepare to open Tynedale Craft Exchange in the coming months. We will not be accepting donations until we are set up, please follow the new page to keep up to date.
