About the business: Oriel is a family run Mediterranean themed cafe restaurant right here on Poole Quay with spectacular views. We serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, all freshly cooked to order, also offering full separate menus for vegan and gluten free. In other words, we have something for everyone and our strength is happy staff who love to chat and provide the best service to our customers! 🥗

How are you operating at the moment: Oriel on the quay is open 7 days a week from 9am til late and apart from the mandatory COVID measures in place, the team is just so happy to be back to work, seeing family and friends meeting up. We do love our job and that's what makes Oriel the best 👊

What makes Poole special: Our quay makes Poole special and our surrounding harbour and beautiful coast. We are so lucky to live here. In our line of work we get to meet lots of amazing people who are down to explore what we sometimes take for granted.

About the business: We are a restaurant & cocktail bar right on Poole Quay with 30 covers al fresco and 60 inside. We offer wine, bespoke cocktails, contemporary Mediterranean food using local seafood, premium spirits and quality ingredients 🦞

How are you operating: We are currently open five days a week, closing Sunday nights, Monday and Tuesday as these are the quietest periods. We have all staff wearing masks with hand sanitizer available throughout the bar and track and trace is mandatory on arrival. We want to keep you safe while operating as usual! 🙌

What makes Poole special: It's San Tropez brought to England - we have stunning views LITERALLY on our doorstep, of the harbour and Brownsea Island, and the best time to be around is on a clear day when the sun is setting over Sandbanks 😍

About the business: We are a traditional pub in Poole Old Town serving traditional food and drinks. We also have a hidden gem, our beer garden behind the pub that can seat 78 or have over 100 standing for private hire events. The best part is that is hasn't been concreted into a patio, so it's all grass and greenery for you you to enjoy! 🌳

How are you operating at the moment: we are open six days a week, closing on Mondays but this coming bank holiday Monday we will be open for business as usual and instead closed on Tuesday 1st June. Once the school summer holidays begin, we will be open seven days a week and we can't wait to welcome you all in 🤩

What makes Poole special: we absolutely love this area and have found this to be the best pub that we have ever run. A big part of that is that the locals support us religiously and enjoy the pub as a community space. We have many female customers who are confident to come in alone because they feel safe and supported which is exactly what we want. We have been here for 11 years and don't plan on going anywhere soon! 🍻

This weekend we'll be celebrating the fact that this week's ballot has had the best possible result, meaning that we have secured another five year term for Poole BID 🥂

We are really excited and were overwhelmed to learn that 73% of levy payers voted in favour of continuing the BID's work and for that, we are so grateful and can't wait to do you proud 🤩

And as always, levy payer or not, we want to hear your thoughts on what you would like to see from us and how we can better look after the town. Let us know in the comments below and have a wonderful weekend 😁👇

About the business: We are a traditional Turkish restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and mezze platters. As well as good food we have Turkish coffee, Turkish beer and cocktails - something for everyone - and we are open seven days a week 🍹

How are you operating: As of yesterday we are open both indoors (with social distancing in place of course) and outside so you can choose where you feel most comfortable. Our staff are wearing masks and we have hand sanitizer on every table for your safety 💪

What makes Poole special: We first visited Poole because my cousin was down here and we loved it straight away. Poole is a great tourism destination, just like where we are from in Turkey, so we knew we had to stay and we are excited for our first summer 😎

About the business: We make fragrances that are good for the world. each of our products is locally produced and all the packaging and materials from start to finish are eco friendly. Each product has a 'hero' ingredient which is sourced from an indigenous community in exchange for something they are in need of. For example, we source our Tonka beans from the Kyoko tribe in the Amazon, and in return we provide them with PPE and medicine. Lastly, all plastic used is recycled from the ocean and all décor in store is locally sourced, like our display as you come in in made from logs that were naturally blackened in a fire! 🔥

How are you operating: We are open online and in store seven days a week. We have hand sanitiser available and all products on display are wiped down after they have been handled. Staff are wearing masks and we have social distancing markers on display and a one way system around the store 🙌

What makes Poole special: It's great to have a store in Poole as it makes us locally owned and operated, as well as all products being locally produced in Wareham - plus, people are becoming more and more aware of the issues of waste and pollution so it's great to have locals in asking us questions and getting involved. Other than than it's great to be placed in a row of independent businesses; we are really excited to see what comes our way this summer! 😎
