✨ Pair of Antique Landscape Watercolours ✨
A charming pair of original antique landscape watercolours by an artist J. Young, painted ten years apart in 1894 and 1904.
The earlier work, dated April 1894, depicts a wonderfully traditional rural scene with an old stone bridge crossing a stream, a cottage beyond and mature trees framing the landscape. Delicate washes of blue, brown and muted green add subtle colour to the otherwise restrained composition.
The companion work, dated 2 May 1904, depicts a peaceful river or loch-side landscape with trees, a cottage and distant hills. Worked primarily in monochrome washes, it has a softer and more atmospheric character ~ £80.00 the pair
Each painting is framed and under glass, measuring 34cm x 31cm.
