🏁 🏁 Dunkeswell Kart Club - Round 6 Recap 🏁

The day started off dry, but it didn’t take long for the skies to open up, bringing some extremely heavy rain and strong winds at Dunkeswell Kart Club for the finals 🌧️

George Walker (177 Rotax) kicked off his dominant weekend in style:

🔥 Heat 1: P9 ⬆️ P3
🔥 Heat 2: P3 ➡️ P3
🔥 Heat 3: P8 ⬆️ P1 (Fastest lap + overtaking senior drivers!)

In the final, George started P2 alongside tough competitor Connor Hall from Coles Racing. Battling through torrential rain, George didn’t let the pressure get to him. He took the lead halfway through the race, pulling ahead and securing the win by just over 2 seconds! 🏆
An incredible race that left both George and his dad Jonny, very emotional 🙌

Rufus Holmes (Junior Rotax) also had an impressive start to the day

🔥 Heat 1: P11 ⬆️ P6
🔥 Heat 2: P2 ➡️ P2

Sadly, the changing weather in Heat 3 put him on the wrong tyres, forcing him to retire early. Rufus showed his resilience, finishing P7 in the final! 👊

Kai Pepperell (Junior Rotax) had a tough weekend getting taken out of heat 1 at the start, but stayed determined:

🔥 Heat 1: DNF
🔥 Heat 2: P5 ⬇️ P9
🔥 Final: P15 ⬆️ P12

It wasn’t the weekend Kai hoped for, but his fighting spirit shone through. TKR welcome him as a new team driver and look forward to working with him.

Forest Edge kart Club Round 5.

A weekend of great promise but no luck.

We had three 177 drivers

-George Walker
-Ashton Parsons
-Sheldon Davey

George Walker showed up with one goal to win and he showed it with fantastic pace all weekend. Unfortunately while running in the top 3 looking good for a podium finish his throttle cable broke causing him to have to limp home to finish 5th.

Ashton Parsons, who hasn’t raced at forest edge kart club for years was starting to find his pace. Heat 3 unfortunately saw another driver understeer out of control into him, causing him and kart to cartwheel 4-5 times and getting thrown out along the way at around 50 mph😬 Ashton was winded but is fine apart from a bit of bruising.

Sheldon Davey and his first time back in the seat for three years pushed hard all day had great pace though out the weekend and finished 10th.

We were also joined by Louie Lovell of South Coast Karting who pushed hard all weekend in his first race at forest edge kart club. He learnt a lot of race craft at the new track ready to go back to clay pigeon shortly.

TKR would like to thank the following people.

Official Forest Edge kart Club Page and officials for a great weekend and also to the hard work of the paramedics who came to the rescue to make sure Ashton was ok.

We also would like to thank all parents and drivers for the hard work and coming together as a team to make sure that Ashton was ok after his accident.
