It may seem a little quiet at Sal’s Soapary at the moment… 👀🌿

I haven’t been out at many markets over the last few weeks, and there hasn’t been quite as much soap-making appearing on here either.

So you’d be forgiven for thinking I’ve been taking it easy. 😂

I’ve made absolutely nothing…

Well, sort of.

Behind the scenes I’ve actually been rather busy!

🌿 Organising products into new Suffolk collections and scent families
🌿 Creating and launching the Dunwich Collection
🌿 Developing and testing the new Suffolk Scents
🌿 Renaming and reworking products to give them more of a Suffolk story
🌿 Checking formulations, CPSRs, IFRA documents and ingredients
🌿 Planning new products and future collections
🌿 Looking at future events and stockists
🌿 And spending a slightly ridiculous amount of time working on the product database! 😂

Sometimes running a handmade business involves an awful lot of making… without actually making anything!

But there are lots of ideas bubbling away, and I’m really excited about where Sal’s Soapary is heading. 💜

And the market break won’t last much longer — I’ll be back at Wenhaston at the end of August, with plenty of Sal’s Soapary favourites (and hopefully a few things for you to discover too 👀).

So apparently things haven’t been quite so quiet after all! 🌿✨

🌿 The first test blends are ready… 🌿

After lots of weighing, blending and testing, I’m excited to share the first fragrance concepts for a brand-new collection inspired by Suffolk.

🌊 Suffolk Coast
🌲 Suffolk Woods
🌸 Suffolk Gardens
🍎 Suffolk Orchards
🌾 Suffolk Meadows

These are still test blends, so there’ll be plenty of refining before the final collection is ready, but it’s exciting to see the idea finally coming to life.

🌿 Introducing the Dunwich Collection 🌿

Some places stay with you long after you’ve left.

For me, Dunwich is one of those places. Its peaceful coastline, wide open skies and beautiful heathlands have long been a source of inspiration, and I’m delighted to share a collection celebrating this very special corner of Suffolk.

The collection brings together four handmade products, each inspired by a different feeling of the landscape:
