Freeman & Folk

Freeman & Folk I'm Mr Freeman. I'm just a simple guy, and I like to make stuff.

Pretty big news...
We're in the process of having a new logo designed!

It’s a small shift, but one that feels pretty meaningful. As I keep growing, learning, and evolving, it felt right to give the Freeman & Folk visual identity a little refresh too.

And y'know what? It got me thinking...

Identity isn’t fixed.
Not in branding, not in life. Not in us.

We’re told we have to figure out who we are—pick a lane and stick to it. But what if that’s never really been the point? What if we’re meant to change shape, tone, and purpose, again and again?

Sometimes you look at an old version of yourself and realise it just doesn’t fit anymore. And that’s not failure. That’s a quiet kind of growth.
A moulting. A shedding. A shift.

The blurry edges, the unfinished drafts, the bits of ourselves we’re still figuring out.

Freeman & Folk is changing - but only because I am too.
Truthfully, that kind of feels like the whole idea.
Whether it is or not... is down to personal interpretation.

I'd say "Watch this space", but quite frankly this is turning more into a platform for me to preach on rather than showcase any of my projects...

tl;dr - Sometimes being emo is a phase, Mum.

Some mornings are just for being.

No lists, no fixing, no catching up. Just a coffee, a patch of grass, my best friend Mouse, and the quiet hum of the garden doing its thing without anyone telling it to.

Taoist thought speaks of non-interference as a path to enlightenment — the idea that nature doesn’t force anything, it just is. And sometimes, that’s more than enough.

Also, Mouse thinks he runs the whole operation. And honestly? He’s right.

Hey everyone 👋

I realised this page is well over-due a post and some outreach, so I'd like to take the chance to introduce myself.

I'm Charlie - the hands, heart and slightly aloof dude behind Freeman and Folk.

This little business idea started as a way to consolidate all of the crafty skills I've gained over the years in to a neat little area to showcase, and hopefully, sell to you lovely lot.

I work mostly in the quiet corners of my home, fuelled by caffeine, a cat cuddled up nearby, TV playing in the background, and a head full of "Oh that's a sound idea, I'll add it to my projects book!".

Everything here is made by my hands, with care, procrastination and genuine thought, because I believe the best things aren't factory perfect. They're full of feeling and one of a kind, so no two items will be exactly the same - just like every one out there reading this.

Whether you've been here a while or stumbling through, welcome.
I hope you enjoy your stay, and make sure to say hello to Marceline and Mouse.
