The wind has dropped today so the midgies were biting hard. Tried spray and covering my head but could only strip two willows before I retreated into the house. I love all the textures and colours you find on the bark and can't wait to use it later on in the year. Ace the cockerel and one of his ladies came for a nose.

Today I went at it withy mini chainsaw. Cutting down willow I'd grown into trees so I can use the bark. I was going to leave the really big ones for my son to do, but once you've got a chainsaw in your hands it's hard to stop !!!!

I had strengthened and old poly tunnel with willow several years ago, which worked really well. It's been battered by many a storm but today I tried to take it down. Dead willow and rusty metal easy, not so much the willow that rooted and grew through the metal mesh of the shelves. Think I need a chainsaw!!!!
