Help, it's March and I should have started a new project - but at the moment I am jetting about (only in the UK, but still) doing a book tour and mixing in radio interviews and podcasts as I go. 5 events done so far and all seem to have gone well and the paperbacks of Angola in my Heart - the story of Ruth Hadley - are also 'flying off the shelves' (quote from the charity) - I'm so pleased for them - especially when they commissioned me although I'd never written a biography before - so it was a wee bitty daunting - probably on both sides! Only thing is the core readership aren't used to writing reviews - or not on Amazon at least - but hopefully the kindle version will pick up - at least it makes it accessible to the overseas market just now. Some form of hard copy will follow via POD for folk abroad shortly (I think) and on Friday we are discussing the audio with a potential narrator...

I still need to decide on my next project - all suggestions welcome.

Well, following sorting out the ebook /PB / Audio linking on Wednesday I have now paid for and am storing carefully new PB covers that as I reprint the books will have the same covers as the ebooks. Now all I need is to sort my headline photo here... oops, can't do that as the PBs are still the basic covers not the annotated ones... Big thank you to VEHMasters Writer's husband who tweaked the ebook covers from the originals and to Design who replicated them for the PBs. (Not quite sure what I shall do with InDesign files and fonts etc, but at least I have the finished articles as well. As does the designer, just in case.)

From around the beginning of April the ebook versions of the Scottish trilogy will come under the Sanderling banner. This is not because I fell out with the current publisher - it was a (renewable) term contract and it was my choice to ask for my rights back - in fact he has been absolutely lovely about my request - but I now feel that to have all the formats under my own control is my next career move. It will mean that the covers will now be the same as for the PB and audio and I can hopefully begin to market them together. A little bit of work to do between now and then - watch this space.

Now here is a potentially interesting development... an outlet that sells my paperbacks has asked could I facilitate them selling my audio (via download codes). That was something I hadn't thought of, but I see no reason why not. It will be a little bit of work for them and we need to iron out the details but it's quite an exciting prospect. If it works I shall be looking at some other independent outlets to see if we could make it work there also...
