And that’s a wrap on the Rutland Flower Show 2026.

What a weekend. From flowering the bandstand, to meeting so many lovely people and seeing the very best of Rutland in bloom - it’s been quite a one.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped to say hello, visited our work, supported us and made the weekend so special.

We’re heading back to The Flower Shed with very full hearts (and probably very tired feet).

Until next year, Rutland Flower Show.

From foliage to flowers

Creating our tropical meadow in 38°C heat was definitely a challenge — but seeing it come together made every sweaty minute worth it.

We wanted to create something that felt like an English country meadow… but with a tropical twist.

So alongside favourites such as Verbena bonariensis and Alliums, we introduced Anthurium, Protea and other exotic blooms — choosing varieties that could stand up to the heat while still giving us the colour, movement and texture we wanted.

The result? A meadow that crosses the colour spectrum from blues and lilacs through to pinks, with a distinctly tropical edge.

If you’re visiting the Rutland Flower Show this weekend, you’ll find our work on the bandstand — and our tropical meadow showpiece waiting to be discovered.

Come and see it for yourself.

38°C. The hottest day of the year. And a flower show challenge that called for us to think a little differently.

So we created what I’m calling a Tropical Meadow - where an English country meadow meets the exotic.

We brought together quintessential meadow favourites such as Verbena bonariensis and Alliums with the architectural drama of Anthurium and Protea, carefully selecting flowers with greater heat resistance for the conditions we were working in.

The colour palette moves through a spectrum of blues and lilacs into soft pinks, layered against a backdrop of contrasting textures: twisting willow, trailing ivy and an abundance of foliage creating movement, depth and structure.

And because the conditions were so extreme, every flower and every element had to earn its place.

This wasn’t about trying to recreate a traditional English meadow.

It was about asking: what happens when an English meadow meets the tropics?

This is our answer.

Our Tropical Meadow, created for The Rutland Flower Show 2026.

And after building it in 38°C heat… I’m rather proud of this one.

Come and see it for yourself at the show this weekend — or visit us at The Flower Shed in Rutland Garden Village, Langham, where you can see more of what we create.

IT’S SHOW DAY. AND WE’VE BEEN KEEPING A LITTLE SECRET…

For days, we’ve been behind the scenes creating something rather special for the Rutland Flower Show.

This morning, at 9am, the gates open - and finally, you can see what we’ve been creating.

Our beautiful floral display on the iconic bandstand has been designed with everything we love about flowers: beautiful blooms, abundant foliage, movement, texture and that slightly wild, garden-inspired feel.

And we cannot wait for you to see it.

If you’re heading to the Rutland Flower Show at Rutland Showground in Oakham over the next three days, come and find us.

And we have a little challenge for you…

Take a photo with our display, tag Rutland Florals • Florist in Rutland and show us what you see.

We’ll be watching for your photos and sharing some of our favourites throughout the weekend.

With around 30,000 visitors expected, we have a feeling we’re going to see some rather wonderful photographs!

Whether you’re visiting for the flowers, gardens, exhibitors, entertainment or simply a great day out in Rutland, make sure our display is on your list.

We’ll see you there.

Yesterday, we had the absolute pleasure of flowering the beautiful wedding of S & G… and what a day it was.

At St. Mary’s Church, Ketton, we kept the florals deliberately elegant and understated. Ivory Calla Lilies lined the aisle, echoed in the bridesmaids’ bouquets, while urn and vase arrangements brought soft garden-style movement to the altar.

Callas are said to symbolise rebirth.. such a beautiful sentiment for the beginning of married life. And Amaranthus, one of my absolute favourite wedding flowers, represents everlasting love. There really is something rather special about choosing flowers that carry meaning as well as beauty.

Then came the transformation from church to celebration. We moved the florals to Prebendal Manor, where S & G celebrated beneath the stars in a beautiful marquee.

Proof that sometimes, elegance really is found in simplicity.

And a shoutout to the incredible team of suppliers who helped make the day so special:

S & G, thank you for trusting us with such an important part of your wedding day. It was a privilege to bring your floral vision to life. Huge congratulations to you both — we wish you a lifetime of happiness and everlasting love.

For our 2027 couples dreaming of romantic, elegant wedding flowers with a distinctly Rutland feel, we’d love to hear from you. Your flowers should feel like you — and we’d love to help you create them.

As a wedding florist, these are the things I would never do at my own wedding…

❌ Choose flowers purely because they’re “in season” without considering the overall design
❌ Copy someone else’s wedding flowers exactly
❌ Leave my florist until the last minute
❌ Try to make every single detail floral
❌ Choose flowers that don’t feel like me

Your wedding flowers should work with your venue, your season and your style — but most importantly, they should feel like you.

Save this for when you’re planning your wedding flowers, and follow Rutland Florals for honest advice, inspiration and garden-inspired wedding flowers across Rutland & Stamford.

You dream. We create.

It will be one of the most photographed details of your entire wedding day.

Think about it.

Your bouquet will be with you as you walk down the aisle, throughout your portraits, during those quiet moments together and in photographs you’ll treasure for years to come.

Your jewellery may be barely visible. Your shoes might never make the album.

But your bouquet?

It will be there, again and again.

So give it the same thought and consideration as your dress, your hair, your makeup and your accessories.

This isn’t an area I’d recommend compromising on to save a few pounds. Your bouquet is an investment in how your wedding day — and the memories of it — will be beautifully captured.

Choose flowers that feel considered, beautifully made and completely you.

Because some details are worth getting absolutely right.

For flowers that feel like you.
