Survival & Etiquette Guide for Homeowners when hosting a carpet fitter during a blistering heatwave

Rule 1 - The Arctic Tundra Mandate: If you have air conditioning, it must be set to the "Prehistoric Ice Age" setting.

Rule 2 - The Ice Lolly Tax: You are legally obligated to buy the fitter a rocket lolly.

Rule 3 - Speed Allowance: Please note that in 35°C heat, a carpet fitter’s movement speed drops dramatically, please be patient.

A Quick Note on Dress Code:
Yes, we know knees aren't meant to look like that. No, we cannot wear shorts because carpet burn in a heatwave is not fun, Please respect our sweaty trousers.

What a weekend! Beautiful weather ☀️😎

For me though it's been spent working, it's been a tough few days 🥵, A heavy 4.00x9.00 metre lounge carpet with some furniture to work around, a full 2 bed flat of carpet and vinyl with 4 home visits/ quotes.

These jobs were completed exactly as planned (1 even ahead of schedule), plenty of prior organisation and communication with customers means there's very little chance of issues on the day of fitting.

Below are the final messages received from customers this weekend which I think proves the extra work I put in behind the scenes make the process as smooth and pleasant as possible for you guys, the customer.

From day 1 of starting J.Peek Flooring I set myself a few rules that I swore I'd never deviate from, below is one of them ⬇️

NEVER become a slimy salesman. I will never upsell or push a particular product, it's your house and your money. I'm here to give honest and professional advice on products and make sure you're happy and comfortable with the final decision.

Here's a photo from a job completed this week, a high end quality carpet installed on fresh grippers and underlay, bleach cleanable and a nice dense pile makes this a perfect carpet choice for a high foot traffic area 👌🏻

This job was from a recommendation from Hudsons Painting, Decorating & Design , as per usual a top notch decorating job 💪🏻
